  • 4 days in salt water test and no rusting yet!
Excellent for putting in paint dropper bottles or jars. Like other stainless steel mixing balls I put these to the test by putting them in water with a hefty amount of salt. So far it's been 4 days and no signs of rust. I have seen other mixing balls that claim to be stainless steel but once put in salt water they start to rust in a couple of days. ... show more

  • Great balls!
Superior balls for mixing model paint in small jars

  • Should work fine for Vallejo paints hopefully I can clear up some confusion
On the packaging it says that the material is 440 stainless steel. 440 stainless steal IS magnetic and is slightly less corrosion resident than other types of stainless steel. If you leave these balls submerged in salt water they will probably rust after a while, but Vallejo paint is not salt water. They should be fine for mini paint mixing. 440 stainless steel is still very rust resident. ... show more

  • Best option on amazon for paint agitators
There are larger balls than this but not in large quantity and in stainless. It seems overpriced but the 3/16” balls aren’t good enough for thick paint like model color, scale 75 and citadel base paint. I also like them for less viscous paints because the size is apparently just the right size for a satisfying “rattle can” sound and feel. I use one for 1 oz thin paints, ills and washes, 2 for 2oz bottles of same, 2 for 17ml or citadel thick paints and 1 for inks, washes and airbrush paints. They do not rust. They are magnetic though, so they aren’ta high grade stainless. However, that’s good because I use a magnet on the end of a Tamiya paint stirrer to pull these back out when needed without emptying the bottle. I’ve bought probably 600 of these. I wish they came in larger quantities at a better value. I originally used 3/16” balls, with three balls in a thick paint like model color, but even with three they’re inferior to even a single quarter inch ball. I might replace the three 3/16” in some of my paints with a pair of 1/4” balls, using the magnet to remove. ... show more

  • Great for mixing airbrush paint
Great price, works great for my airbrush paints, helps me mix them quickly.

  • Perfect for paints!
I ordered a set of these a while ago for an agitator in my Vallejo, Scale 75, and other paints. Tested first by letting one sit in saltwater for a week to see if it would have any adverse effects, but nothing. I've now ordered these multiple times for all my paints without issues.

  • Works for my purpose
Bought these to put in a ball for my dog. With these inside it doesn't roll down the driveway and into the street. What can is say, it is a ball bearing.

  • Perfect size for Citadel paint pots
If you're looking for the perfect size for Citadel paint pots, these are it. Flawless "rattle can" shake to get the paint mixed up. You may want to add one or two more for the thicker stuff but I have my mixer as well, so no need for that.
