  • Product includs:3-Rubber Paddle , 3-Metal Straps , 9-Bolts & Lock Nuts , 3-Self-tapping Screws;Detailed in the product pictures
  • The traditional zinc coated screw, after long time use, will inevitably rust with the nut and become welded together. This makes it impossible to repeat use after unscrewing. Our screws are made of 304 stainless steel, which means it can stand years of harsh environment while being rust-resistant. Because of this, you can expect to use it again and again.

  • The Purpose of the Kit : This kit reduces the existing gap between the snow blower's impeller blades and the impeller chamber wall. The smaller the gap, the greater your machine's operational efficiency and snow throwing capability will be, and the less likely that your machine will clog up with snow.
  • Purchase Notes:Pleases make sure the part number of new replacement matches your original equipment before ordering. If you encounter any problem, feel free to let us know. We will be more than happy to reply your message within 24 hours.

Description

This "gap" allows snow and slush to slip by the blades and build up around the impeller and in the discharge chute clogging it. This gap also decreases the efficiency of the impeller's ability to propel the snow up the chute resulting in less throwing distance. This problem is well known to people with two-stage snow blowers, and the easy and the quick, inexpensive fix is to modify the impeller blades by adding a strip of reinforced rubber to each one of them to eliminate this gap It is HIGHLY recommended that you install a Kit on each blade however, because only modifying some but not all of the blades will cause a harmonic imbalance in the spinning impeller which could easily cause excessive wear on the impeller shaft bearing resulting in very costly repairs! If you have a single-stage snow blower, or your gap is less than 1/4" or greater than 5/8", you probably don't need or can't use this fix. Install this Kit onto your two-stage snow blower and never fear another snow fall again! Virtually eliminate the “clogged chute” syndrome when moving wet or heavy snow! Dramatically increase the snow throwing distance of your snow blower! Depending on how handy you are, this kit can be installed in 1-2 hours without too much difficulty! NOTE: if the gap varies around the chamber wall, you MUST install the rubber to fit the spot where the gap is the smallest, otherwise, the rubber will fail!! The rubber paddles in your Kit be mounted should be installed so they are barely touching, if at all, the impeller chamber wall. Remember, ANY decrease in the gap between the impeller blades and the chamber wall will result in a significant improvement in operational efficiency and throwing distance!

  • Looking for improved performance from my snowblower!
This kit is designed as an enhancement to the performance of your two-stage snowblower, enabling it to throw snow farther and work more efficiently on heavy wet snow & slush, which tends to clog the shoot, requiring that it be cleared by hand in order to finish the job. It accomplishes these tasks by reducing the gap between the rotating impeller and the the housing. In most cases this gap is less than 1/2" or so, but it's said that this is enough to significantly degrade the machine's ability. Installation is a DIY operation, and it can be challenging as well as time-consuming. I installed mine on a Poulan Pro, which required modification to the hole spacing on the blower housing in order to make them fit. You can expect to have to custom-fit the rubber pieces and hold-down metal plates to your unit’s impeller blades, and the actual installation is done in tight areas that have sharp, rusted components in the way, even if you’ve removed parts of the blower to gain the necessary access. Do not assume that this is going to be quick and easy… It’s necessary to attach the rubber and steel strips to each of the impeller blades with two or three bolts and nuts. Some reviews mention that these pieces can be attached with self-tapping screws, but they only give you three! So — one screw per blade? Makes no sense to me. The instructions, however, say to use the self-tapping screws to drill pilot holes, and I did that with the first one, which worked well enough. But drilling that one hole destroyed the tip of the screw, and it couldn’t be used to drill a second hole! That left me with two screws and 5 more holes to drill, so I had to come up with Plan B… I’d read reviews where it’s suggested to use a step drill to make the mounting holes, and I happened to have one. This worked great, despite it being an inexpensive tool from a discount tool store. One advantage of using the step drill is that it has a 1/4” impact-style shaft for inserting it into the drill chuck. This allowed me to also use a 1/4” extension making it, in effect, a long drill bit, which solved the problem of the drill’s being too bulky to fit inside the tight quarters while making the holes. (see this setup in attached picture) It’s a moderately difficult task, depending upon a number of factors, including the make, model and age of your machine, your mechanical aptitude and the tools that you have access to. In my case, my age and agility also added to the complexity, as it entailed a lot of bending, stooping and crawling around on my garage floor. It was a reminder that I’m not as young as I used to be. I'm waiting for that first snow to find out how well this works, but have to admit that I wouldn't be upset if it didn't snow all winter! ... show more

  • Snow blower upgrade
Just received the parts but have not installed yet. Instruction look to be adequate and the parts appear to be top quality.

  • Greatly improved my snowblower's performance; installation difficult
Highly recommended. I installed this kit on a 30-inch Craftsman snowblower that I use to clear a 700-foot dirt/gravel driveway and turnaround area in snowy North Idaho. There was about a 1/2" gap between the impeller and housing, which would jam with stones and ice-up with slush. Throw distance also was not great. This mod kit completely eliminated the gap. Since installing the kit, I've had no issues with stone jams or ice build-up, and the machine throws snow much farther. It's like having a new machine. The improvement this kit made is impressive. Note: Installation was not easy. The discharge chute and its mounting stand on the impeller housing had to be removed to get at the impeller blades. Drilling the thick steel of the impeller was a chore, as was tightening the bolts. When adjusting the rubber sweeps, be sure to disconnect your spark plug and rotate the impeller to make sure the rubber clears the metal housing, because the impeller probably isn't perfectly centered within the impeller housing - at least mine wasn't. Failure to check this could make the impeller bind at some point in its rotation. But it was worth the trouble, and I'm very pleased with the results. I will be sure to add this modification to any future snowblower. Snowblower manufacturers should put these rubber impeller blades on every machine at the factory. ... show more

  • Excellent improvement, doubled throwing distance.
Great i.orovement on an older blower, even in wet snow, chut never clogged. Hard driving thru impeller, switched to steel step bit, easy drilling.

  • Should work well
I've completed installing the kit and from all appearances should work well - the concept is sound. Installation is very straightforward. Drilling the "blades" is a little difficult but doable with the right drill and drill motor. The supposedly self drilling screws included with the kit are worthless, you need a proper drill. Anxious for the first snowfall to see how the modification works. On the coast of Maine we get a lot of "wintry mix slush storms" that clog the blower and it will be nice to not have that problem. ... show more

  • Good quality paddle kit for larger snowblowers
The kit hardware is of good quality, but it is really designed for snowblowers that have a 4 inch paddle. Mine has a narrower paddle and I had to cut the paddles to match and the backer plate was of no use as it was to wide, and I had no way to cut it. I just attached the paddles with self threading screws and smaller fender washers. So measure the width of the flat surface of your impellor blade and if it is less than 4 inches, you can make your own out of a heavy mudflap or cut out pieces from the sidewall of an old tire. The principle works, there is no doubt about that. This should be standard equipment on all new snow blowers, but then the snowblower companies wouldn't sell as many of the higher capacity models, because the smaller models would be so much more effective. If you do make your own or buy a kit, make sure that you cover the whole blade. The flat surface and the bent end of the paddle. You want to be wiping clean the entire surface of the impellor drum. ... show more

  • Product as advertised.
The product is as advertised. The hardest part of installing is drilling the impeller blades. The impeller on my toro snowthrower is made from hardened steel . I ruined a high speed steel drill bit right away. I had to get a titanium coated bit and turn it at a very slow speed to get it to cut the steel. I wish I had know this before starting the install. I do not know if this product will make snow throw farther, have not had snow yet. Maybe tonight. ... show more
