    • What did I receive? Not polyethylene, and not 1-inch thick.

My pack of 6 PE foam sheets came vacuum-packed. Vacuum packing ruins this type of foam. And there is no way that this was 1-inch sheets- the package was barely 2 inches thick with all 6 sheets. I opened the package and left it overnight to see if it would relax/expand. It did not. Finally, I do not think this is actually polyethylene. I've bought polyethylene sheets from other vendors, and it's supposed to be a stiffer, closed-cell foam. The stuff I got seems to be a compressed open-cell foam, so I have no idea what kind of plastic this is. And this is CRITICAL when using a laser to cut these sheets. The wrong kind of foam will emit toxic fumes when cut with a laser. I do not plan on testing this. ... show more

The foam sheets came vacuum packed, so I assumed that they would eventually expand to the full 1 inch thickness as advertised, but days have gone by and it still hasn't expanded. I'm not sure that they ever will. Also, they are not polyethylene like you get with a kaisen packing material, they are just standard hobby foam sheets. I'll probably end up using these for some side project, but they won't be used to protect my tools. ... show more
