I am disappointed. Very disappointed! Although it presents itself as a good valve for the money, and certainly easy to use (set up) it, in my experience and opinion, sorely lacks the power needed to dissuade and deter certain predators. It is advertised as up to 10 miles, but the model I received states up to 2 miles. (That’s quite a disparity!). But my application is for a very small garden area to keep the deer away. To my surprise and utter disappointment it did not deter the deer at all! It was eating away on my squash plants. No doubt It would have done more damage, had the camera no activated notifying me some was there. (This was at night.) I hurried outside and shooed it way.

Excellent directions & excellent result. I am not an electrician- far from it. 😆 No one wanted this job. Our electrician we love was too busy for this type of labor intensive project. It took about 6-7hours to install the brackets on 350ft of posts; that was 85% of the work. I used XL zip ties to attach the brackets to a vinyl fence. Then the wire tension needs to be correct while not touching any fence except brackets. Easy connections and it took 6hrs to charge. No more broken fences and our Beloved Friesians are safe. ;) I tried to share a video it wouldn’t upload will try again later

After providing a less than stellar review because the product never worked the company was prompt to reply and troubleshoot, however troubleshooting required me to buy a voltmeter and a fence tester. Buying both of those ended up being $80ish dollar when the product was just over $100. The issue ended up being with cables that came with the product so I then had to buy wire and end pieces to hook up the charger to the fence, so to diagnose and get my fence working I spent the same on tools and replacement parts as the actual unit costed. Once I advised the company where the fault lay I had to supply proof of the cables being defective. They advised me they could not see any visible reason that the cables shouldn’t work. I guess the product works fine now, that I fashioned my own cables with parts I had to buy out of pocket, but i spent as much on tool and parts as the whole unit cost just to troubleshoot it. Terrible end result for a product that was still under warranty.

I bought this to replace a charger that was hit by lightning. The solar power allowed me to get rid of the wiring from my shop to my fence. I’ve had it in service for about a month now powering a mixture of 17 gauge wire and 1/2” poly tape. Assembly was a little awkward as the battery will only fit one way. After connecting the battery leads it took me a couple of attempts to get is seated correctly. The leads with the alligator clips didn't impress me, so I used some of my other electric fence supplies to make the connections. I initially charged it with the provided DC charger prior to installation and it’s stayed charged via the solar panel with no issue since. I’ve got it mounted on top of a t-post, and I’m not super sure how well that’s going to last. I always have the option of moving it to a wood post which will make it much more secure. In the long run, I’m confident that features and functionality will prove to be a good value. Durability question is too early to answer. I’ve got some chargers that have been in service for decades, but eliminating the need for A/C power makes this a great fit for portability. I test my fences regularly and this one is pushing multiple strands of a little over a mile of conductors. The only time it hasn’t tested at over 6k volts was due to some ground issues along the fence.

This seems a well-built solid unit. All parts and details are high quality. Design is odd in that the pulse light and controle switch are on the back side. This puts them out of the weather, out of harms way, and out of sight. Standard two screw mount makes it easy to pick up and change setting or verify light is flashing, then re-hang unit.
