  • Very well made heavy-duty Para card Very well made heavy-duty Para card
I picked up this 40-foot length of paracord, and right out of the package, the sheer thickness of it really stands out. At 0.4 inches in diameter, it is significantly bulkier than your standard everyday paracord, essentially bridging the gap between normal cordage and a heavy-duty rope. The overall build quality is excellent. Looking closely at the cut ends, you can clearly see a dense bundle of inner core fibers securely housed inside the thick woven nylon sheath. Because of this solid construction, the rope feels extremely durable. I fully expect it to hold up to a heavy amount of weight and resist fraying or snapping under pressure. Good value for the price. I'm planning on keeping this around as my primary utility rope for a wide variety of applications. It feels incredibly sturdy, and I have no doubt it can confidently handle just about any task you throw at it. If you need something with a lot more backbone than standard paracord, this is a good choice. ... show more

  • Worked well for what I needed it for Worked well for what I needed it for
I ordered and received 40ft of Black 0.4-inch Para Cord rope and not what is now currently shown in this link. I ordered the Para Cord for general use around my house and cabin, and I most recently used it to temporarily secure two solar panels from winds while I prepared their permanent mounts. The Para Cords is good quality and at 0.4 inches in diameter provides good strength and I will be finding many uses for it here at my cabin. I have found that nylon Para Cord holds up much better than cotton ropes and doesn’t attract the squirrels looking for nesting material. ... show more

  • Good Length of Quality Rope
I use rope in the back yard for a variety of purposes, but mainly for securing the pool tarp. It's easier to keep the pool covered in the winter than keep feeding chems and working nets and filters to keep everything clean. To do that, I have developed a system that uses suspended rope to keep the tarp elevated for proper drainage as well as tying down along the edges. This is a good length of woven nylon. This rope feels seriously solid right out of the bag. It’s a 10.5mm static rope with a dense core and a tightly woven outer sheath, so it has a nice firm feel without being stiff or hard to work with. Knots hold well, and it runs smoothly through the loops and carabiners, which makes it great for tightening down and pulling taut. I imagine if you were a climber, it would be ideal for controlled climbs or descents where you want that predictable handling. It’s clearly built with durability in mind too. The materials hold up well against wear, moisture, and sun exposure, and the ends are heat-sealed so you don’t have to worry about fraying. It’s rated for heavy-duty use with a high tensile strength and very minimal stretch, which is exactly what you want in a static rope—no surprise give when you’re relying on it. I also like the visibility options -- it comes in different colors -- and overall versatility. The bright color choices make it easy to spot in my darkened shed, and the included storage bag is a nice bonus. It works well for a range of uses like securing tarps, climbing, rigging, tree work, or even setting up swings, deer stands and hammocks. Honestly, this is the best rope I've found for my purposes. ... show more

  • Utility Rope Grade
This is a decent utility grade rope. Doesn't really fit climbing gear needs. The presentation of the specifications and claimed uses is confusing. I will not be trusting it for high weights or climbing activities at any great height. Good for securing loads in trucks, roping off access to an area and similar household uses. ... show more

  • Set of two 12 foot camping guy lines/ratchets with lots of uses
My order arrived as two sets of 12 foot camping ropes, so I’m going to go with that. Twelve feet of rope with ratchet and two carabiners, times two. Had to use them, to do a proper review. They have been a great set of helpers, a terrific tie-down system for camping and in general, and used even on and under the back deck. A good ratchet system, easy locking. Heat-sealed ends help to prevent fraying. These ropes are 1/8” yet strong enough to be that extra set of hands when you say “Hey, can you hold this?” and there’s nobody there. Of course the official use is as tent guy lines or as tarp rope or for a canopy. It’s a fact that it’s a versatile kit appropriate for lots of jobs, at home and away. Even a clothesline on camp trips, or for jacking anything up off the ground between trees, away from animals. I believe the original listing had them rated for 150 lbs. They’re lifting 2/3 of that, don’t think I’d go to 150, although the ropes are strong, and flexible when necessary. They are small, compact ratchet systems that will be kept in the trunk of the car. Who knows what’s next! Lots of help for a little cash. ... show more

  • Convenient, light-weight alternative to tying knots Convenient, light-weight alternative to tying knots
This pair of paracord ratchet pulleys is about the perfect size for the gauge of rope included in the package. Any bigger would be overkill for the strength of the rope. I found the rope to be of the very stretchy variety rather than some more stout camping ropes, so if you wanted to upgrade the rope, it might increase the capabilities of this kit. The ratchet works smoothly, but if you're lifting any substantial weight, you'll want to lift the load by hand and take up the slack with the ratchet. Pull directly and I found the ratchet kind of seizes up. The 150-lb capacity claim of this rope system I think is overly optimistic. No way I'd put that much weight on one of these. I'd be completely happy with it though, in any use I can think of around a campsite. I will be using it to help me hoist an aluminum extension ladder and hang it on my garage ceiling. It should be perfect for a moderate load like that. ... show more

  • Good Value & Quality, Soft braided rope GREAT for all kinds of uses, SMALL YET FUNCTIONAL Good Value & Quality, Soft braided rope GREAT for all kinds of uses, SMALL YET FUNCTIONAL
I got this Guy Lines Camping Rope Tarp Tie Down Ropes to use for the occasional times when I need to tie things to the roof of my car. For example, our Christmas Tree in early December to get it home safely or the occasional time that I need to tie down my old kayak to my roof rails. Upon inspection, this rope is made of good manufacturing quality. It is SOFT and it is just the right size for what I need it to do. Furthermore, the value proposition is good with this rope, as the price is so good that it seems that I am getting a two for one deal. I am confident that this will do a great job tying down the kayak. It is definitely long enough to get the job done. And I feel confident that I'll be able to get it there firmly and safely, with the help of this rope. It seems very durable, so it'll last and will do the job numerous times looking forward. Overall, I am 100% satisfied with this rope, its quality and value, and would recommend it to anyone who needs a bit of help to make the holidays a bit brighter or for everyday getting things there. ... show more

  • Guy Lines Camping Rope Tarp Tie Down Ropes with Ratchet System Guy Lines Camping Rope Tarp Tie Down Ropes with Ratchet System
This review is for a set of two camping ropes with ratchets and carabiners. The ropes are about 13 feet long. The ratchets automatically lock down and are easy to release with finger pressure. The rope pulls through the ratchet and locks without slipping. These camping ropes are suitable for use with a tent or tarp. They may be used to secure food on a pole above a campsite, to limit animal access. These ropes can secure cargo. They are rated for 150 pounds. These guy lines are a practical and versatile item, and I'm glad to have them. ... show more
