I purchased this to use in my older car that doesn't have a built in backup camera or android auto. The car is perfectly fine besides that - runs great and suits my needs. But... I've wanted to have a backup camera for a while now, and being able to use android auto is really convenient so I decided to give this one a try. I've been really impressed with it so far! I've been using it almost a month now and it's been really great! It's been so nice finally having a backup camera now, this was exactly what I was looking for. It is pretty straight forward to install following along with the instructions. The display is plenty clear and the screen is a perfect size to be able to see it clearly, without taking up too much space on the dashboard. It fits in nicely and the mounting supplies that it comes with have help up perfectly fine so far. The android auto has also been really nice to have as well. Being able to have my phone hooked into the unit and stereo wirelessly to use the gps and spotify has been great. Definitely wish I would have picked one up sooner. Overall, I'd highly recommend this to anyone looking for a straightforward rearview camera and audio receiver with android auto/car play!

I listen to AM radio, does not support. Rear back up camera was a complete mess, cannot get it to work. Not at all happy, only thing I can use it for is gps / map

Nice wide, high resolution screen is very impressive at night or in low light conditions but is pretty much unreadable on a sunny day. It helps if you tilt the screen towards the driver’s seat so you’re looking straight at it, cuts down on the reflections since it is a highly glossy, reflective screen. Hooking it up to WiFi, Bluetooth (iPhone) was extremely quick and easy and the unit recognizes your phone within about 3 seconds after you start the car. There are two mounts provided, a stick-down mount with a ball joint, intended to sit on top of your dashboard, and a suction cup windshield mount with an extension rod and ball joint. Both of these mounts placed the screen too high in my van, blocking quite a bit of the view out the windshield. As you can see from the photo, I took a different approach that may work for you if you’d like the screen mounted lower than the stock mounts permit. I took the suction cup attachment off the extension mount and just stuck the extension rod directly to the dash. This placed the screen right where I wanted it and you can extend the rod if you want to tilt the screen toward the driver’s seat if you want. I had one major problem with the unit: I spent two days trying to get the backup camera to work. I wired it to the backup lights and the head unit would recognize when I put the car in reverse and show a “reversing” message, but I’d get a “no Signal’ message instead of a camera view. Nothing I tried would get this to work. I was about to give up on it when, out of frustration, I wired it up backwards and - voila - it worked. Turned out my camera came with the power leads wired backwards, with the red wire connected to ground and the black wire to positive. Apparently, the reverse detection circuit doesn’t care what the polarity is, but the camera sure does. If you have this problem with your camera, try hooking the leads up with polarity reversed and see if it works for you too. Once I got it working, it works great. Another oddity is that the Contrast slider in the display setup menu does not work properly. Instead of adjusting contrast, which I would really like to do to improve daytime readability, it just adjusts brightness, just like the Brightness slider. It’s best just to leave it at the default setting, turning it up or down just makes it worse.
