I paint detailed paint-by-number canvases. Many of them come rolled up and include stretcher bars and thumbtacks (which aren't very adequate). With these tools, and a youtube video, I was amazed at how professional my canvas turned out. You also need a staple gun. I do paint by numbers. Bought my first canvas one and needed to stretch it. Bought this to help, but I can't get it to function well for ME. The wooden from I bought did not allow me to get the pliers to get a good leverage to stretch the canvas. Might need a smaller pair if I can find some, maybe 2".
