This trap is our favorite. Looks great hanging out by the porch. The bees love it and after a couple got in they sent out a party invite and all their friends came! Catching new bees almost daily! Would highly recommend!

This is the second bee trap I ordered for use at our front porch where carpenter bees have begun boring. These traps are designed so that the bee enters through one of the holes that mimic the holes they bore in your wood structures but cannot exit the trap except through the hole where the plastic bottle is located, becoming forever trapped. It really works, too. We have had a couple of others made be a local crafter that we have used for several years now. You can unscrew and empty the plastic bottle as necessary and replace it back for continued use. The design is cute like a little miniature building, although I don't care for the cross. I'm not into overt religious displays around my house. I suppose this is mimicking a church, though, thus the cross. The trap requires very little assembly, other than attaching the string to the hook from which it hangs. This is not my favorite way to install this, as I worry about it swinging excessively in crosswinds as it hangs from the eaves of the porch. If that is the case, then I will attach an eye style screw at the top and eliminate the string Otherwise, I look forward to using it.

If you have trouble with carpenter bees, you already know that a trap is helpful in controlling them. This is one of the nicer made traps I’ve used. I am hanging this under the roof edge of a covered porch so weather durability is not a concern of mine. This trap is cute and kind of looks like a bird house. Honestly, I really don’t like the looks of hanging bee traps but this helps ease some of my dislike. The cup screws on and off easily. There is a predrilled hole in the center at the top for the hanging hook. It also has a picture type loop on the back if you want to mount it from the back. This is not the only solution to the carpenter bee problem. Get a few different traps and hang them around the areas you see the bees flying. Also, get a good chemical spray (I wish this wasn’t necessary), and make sure your house is painted well. Good luck.

The GRTRE 1 Pack Wood Carpenter Bee Trap for Outside (Best Bee Trap - Wood Boring Bee Trap) is a well made looking “bird box” with a plexiglass-glass tube/jar that screws in the bottom of the box. The bees enter the holes in the box (see photos) and are then caught in the tube and therefore trapped. We have had carpenter bees for several years and have tried many different remedies. This is the first time I have seen these boxes and I placed the box directly above the last hole bored by the bees. This was just received by me yesterday; I put it up today; and I will check it each day to see if we have captured any bees. If we see no activity in a few days in the current location, I will move it to an adjacent place where the bees have also bored holes.

Cute little Carpenter Bee Trap. Looks good, the constructions seems good, and hopefully it works. We have carpenter bees boring into the wood fence and they need to go. As of now this looks like a good alternative to the sprays that have kinda worked but not solved the problem. Only time will tell but as of now I am happy with the product. If it works I will be more than happy with it.
