I bought a brand new Microwave to use with this kiln. Simply put this kiln does not work. I tried different colors of glass including Tekta clear and not one of them fused evenly. In fact, most either cracked, or did not fuse at all. I also tried different suggestions from online websites regarding these types of microwave kilns. I have seen these types of kilns demonstrated before and was so looking forward to making my own glass pieces. It was an absolute total and complete disappointment. Even after microwaving the kiln for twice the length of time stated in the instructions this kiln did not even begin to fuse glass together.     • Works but not well. Good for test firing or making decorative beads.

It does work but the black coating is not evenly applied so it gets hotter on one side and takes longer to fire. Glass fully fuses on the hotter side and tack fuses on the cold side. I'm looking into getting a coating repair kit to get it working correctly. Having hard time finding one.

Used it three times every time it burned the glass but never melted. Does anyone has a suggestion of what I could be doing wrong . The Kiln is gotten black from the burned glass.

    • leave it alone until it is cool!
If you take it out and the inside is orange, it will burn the crap out of you and set fires all over the kitchen. Leave it be for a couple of hours, and you will probably find that your glass project will be cool to the touch and un-cracked.

    • Love this! Melts glass very well.
Trial and error will help you decide how long to melt different types, thicknesses, etc of glass. Use caution when lifting kiln cover to check progress - the heat radiating from melting glass is intense! This is amazing!
