Got these tiles to create a patio extension at my apartment. I never thought I’d be so excited about a 45-square-foot addition! I cut the grass very short and mixed dirt and mulch to level the ground underneath — and that’s all. These were pretty easy to assemble on a hard surface. I anchored them with landscaping staples to keep the surface in place. The tiles are made of acacia wood, which is the same wood used in my table here. So far, it’ s held up well and looks very nice. And if I decide I want to move, all I have to do is pick these up and let the grass grow back — no damage done. Why only 4 stars? These will pop apart in places when moving them from the hard surface to the ground. Putting them back together on the ground/dirt can be challenging. In the last box of tiles I opened, the tabs didn’t align well with the tiles from other boxes. Had to really work to get those pieces attached. Also, these are pretty thin. They work fine for me and my little patio. But if I had a bigger space to cover, I would pick something heavier to cover the ground. ... show more

    • Look Great except plastic connectors easily break

I like the look of the tiles but the cheapness of the plastic connectors is something to think about. The connectors easily break when trying to attach the tiles to each other. If I had to do it again, Id get them from Ikea. Ikea had much stronger connectors.

    • Don’t buy it if you want a lot of work every year!

I bought almost $1000 worth of this, and it looks beautiful on my screened in porch. The installation required some work, but I am still happy with the result. But after 3 month, it already start to have mold….. which is crazy to me, since this floor is made for outside….. so I contacted the seller. And the seller’s response are this is wood, you will need to get treated every year. If not, mold is normal. Ok, I guess it was my bad to think that for an outdoor floor it should be somewhat already treated, and shouldn’t have mold issue with in three month. But ok, I treated the mold, which it cost discolor for the floor, and it looks terrible. Then tried to “seal” it. But that still didn’t work. I am at a point, just rip everything out and trash it. Every time when I have to treat the floor and seal it, it takes hours….. it’s too much work, and it looks terrible. If I would have known this, I would never purchased it. So I am writing this review to warn any future buyers. If you have time, and have no problem with mold, then go ahead, it does look beautiful for three month! But if you are like me, have kids and don’t want spend hours to do after care every year. Then I would suggest you to stay far away from this product! ... show more

    • Customer Service at its BEST!!!

Since this is a product review, I'll start by saying that the deck tiles are gorgeously stained in espresso, durable, and easy to assemble. I placed two orders of tiles at different times and happened to receive different color stained tiles (e.g. one lighter stained/one darker stained). Since I needed all the tiles ordered, I reached out to Interbuild to inquire about getting all one color. Nikki--was such a joy to speak with and actually brought tears to my eyes for how understanding and accommodating she was. I honestly thought they would say that wood color/stain varies due to the them coming from different trees, but she offered to replace all ordered tiles with new ones to ensure that the colors were from the same pallet. Once I received the new order of matching tiles, she sent me return labels for the unused items at no cost to me. Never have I been treated with such kindness and consideration from a customer service department in all of my 37 years lol. Thank you Nikki and Interbuild for putting customers first! ... show more

Update: two years later. We got these when we first moved into our apartment in 2020, and we are still there and STILL have this flooring! As you can see in my initial pictures, the black furniture I had didn’t hold up very well - in fact, it fully deteriorated- but not the floor tiles! These floor tiles STILL look the same, absolutely amazing and hardy. Very worth the cost to upgrade a not-great outdoor space without a hefty investment. 6 out of 5 stars! We bought this flooring for our apartment patio as our downstairs neighbors were unfortunately getting birdseed from our bird feeder on their deck through the cracks. Not only did it help with that by narrowing the cracks but it also looks AMAZING. Our deck is easily our favorite place to be, and we ordered these over three months ago and they still look brand new, even with near-tornados, sun and rain on them. (Our patio is technically covered, however, so only heavy rains get to it). I’m trying to think of a single complaint and I really can’t. I think with proper use and maintenance these should last a long time and we will absolutely take these to our next home and use them for years. ... show more
