I purchased the brushless version for my son since he’s ready for a vehicle with more size and speed (~30mph) than the brushed 1/16 scale he currently has. This vehicle is perfect for someone looking for an inexpensive mid level rc, but I’d caution against this as a “cheap” alternative to name brand short course trucks such as the brushless versions of the Traxxas Slash or Arrma Senton. Those vehicles go 15-20mph faster out of the box, have better build quality, and offer superior parts support. As for replacing parts; I’ve found that the website ImexRC.com has the most complete listing (look under the “Samurai 2.0” model). Overall, this is a good truck that offers respectable midrange performance and durability, and if you can pick it up for under $200, it offers a lot of value for the money. I installed a spectrum 100 amp brushless ESC and spectrum 3660 3200 KV brushless motor. I made a modification to the body mount posts. Ordinarily when you put the body on the back of the body shell rubs on the bumper and in fact takes all of the weight. Any upside down landings would most likely crack the body shell where that contact takes place. If you cut two 1-in pieces of Bic pen and use the hollow tube to slide over the body mount posts it gives a place for the roll cage to rest on so the body doesn't rub on the rear bumper.(see pics) I opened the front and rear diff housing and lubed the gears with Dynamite Marine Grease To the body shell.. I removed the roll cage and reinforced the body with Shoe Goo, masonry thread tape (thicker and stronger than threaded drywall tape) and when that cured I brushed liquid rubber across the entire inside. After I tried I reinstalled the roll cage. This method provides excellent protection for your body shells and combined with skid guards on the outside it makes them virtually indestructible. I've run this car a few times in my yard and so far it has been awesome. It's winter right now so I can't really give it the full treatment but when I do I will post a running review. This car shares many many parts with another company called VRX Racing. I have found many upgrades and replacement parts on AliExpress as well as eBay. You'll have much better luck looking for VRX parts then you will Laegendary parts. HAPPY TRAILS, GUYS and good luck! ... show more

For the price of this car and the quality u get is ridiculous. I just swapped out the motor/esc wit my own brushless set. Which is cool cause now it made it more my choice on where I wanted to go with the car. And now I got a badass 300$+rc truck For 120$. I'm about to buy 3 more just to stock pile them shoot because for that price it's well worth it to have one just for a parts piece. I did love the car but my problem is that I don't know how much time to charge the battery since there is no manual. And when I try to charge it the charger flash a red light continously and I would want to know if that means that the battery or the charger don't work any nore

This is the 4th LAEGENDARY RC Car ive bought and by far the biggest disappointment. Ive purchased three other models that i have been happy with and besides the replacing of parts that comes with any R/C that are this fast they have pretty much been trouble free. This is the big boy of the lineup and at 340 bucks i was expecting a great experance. First time out of the box it using it we found its a roller in any turns with pace. you gonna need to soften the rear shocks, like drop in adjustment as far as you can and remove the top heavy addons to the shell ie rear mounted tire and the two man beauty insert. Now the car will at least stay on its wheels and is much more controlled. Second time using it (on asphat) just zipping it back and forth in straight line races against the other cars we have (which it did blow the doors off of) the car suddenly began to billow smoke, run up to it and the control modual is on fire, burned the wires, the shell and after tearing off the cover i was able to get it out by ripping out the battery- what was left of it and let it sit and smolder. I looked at the parts needed and its more to buy the parts each then the car is? unreal. Im gald i was outdoors as if this happened in the home it could of been really bad or if my son was using it by himself he would not of know what to do. The battery was not the cause in this btw. the control unit itself is what caught on fire. Lucky enough the unit is still within the return window and ive sent it back. Ill update with how that goes at least. I bought this car off of the use of the other three we have and like i said, ive been very happy with those but this was something else. Awesome product and arrived on time. I knew that I was getting a brushed version and that I was going to make it brushless. I installed a 3674 motor 2650kv and it flies. For those that don't think it's a 1/8 you need to remember that a short course truck is built on a buggy sliding scale. If the price on the brushed version stayed at around $200 dollars and the brushless at $300 there product would fly off the shelf. Enjoy the hobby be invitive and make it your own. ... show more
