This 1.5 gallon aquarium starter kit is not suitable for Betta fish, (Betta need a minimum of a 5 gallon tank) but it is very useful as an isolation/hospital tank. The built-in filtration, oxygenation and lighting, make it easy to set up quickly and the clear plastic lets me keep a close eye on any fish that needs special care. It’s also a good size for shrimp, but far too small for goldfish, fish in general or other long-term set ups. It also works well as an aqua plant nursery. As a hospital tank, though, it’s lightweight, convenient and does exactly what I need as a short-term solution.

This all-in-one aquarium kit is fantastic for a low-maintenance setup. It came with everything I needed: the tank, a silent pump, and a tricolor LED light, so I was able to get it set up quickly. I love that it's made from durable PET plastic; it's so much lighter than a traditional glass tank but has the same crystal-clear look. The whisper-quiet pump is a huge plus, making it easy to keep the water clean without any noise. However, it's important to note that while this is marketed for betta fish, a 1.5-gallon tank is not suitable for them. Bettas need a minimum of 5 gallons to thrive. This kit is a great, affordable starter option for beginners to learn fishkeeping, and it would be perfect for housing shrimp, but I would not recommend it for a betta.

A tidy little desktop aquarium - it plastic/acrylic, so its very light weight. The con is these tanks are often easy to scratch, so that's something to be aware of while decorating. The kit does some with a filter and the light. The filter is very cute but pretty ineffective - you can swap it out for an airstone or tiny sponge filter to keep things cleaner. The light clips over the side and has a usb plug with a switch remote. There are 3 "colors"/modes you can cycle through - warm/cool/blue - and the light is sufficiently bright enough to grow easy plants like guppy grass, java moss and duckweed. Given how small the tank is you're limited on what stock you can safely put in. A single betta would do nicely or a trio of male endlers or any kind of temperate nano fish. However, I'd really recommend "cherry" (there are many colors besides red and you could even do "skittles" or a rainbow tank) shrimp because they don't need a heater, are active all the time, easily have babies, only eat small amounts of food, do well in small tanks and would be fine with an airstone + some java moss.

Its seamless design is aesthetically pleasing and robust, yet some manufacturing defects such as air bubbles or cloudiness can be observed upon close inspection. The kit comprises a filter, an LED light featuring three color modes (warm, cool, blue), and a plastic plant. Nevertheless, both the filter and light are of average quality. The filter may necessitate gluing to maintain its assembly and is not effective for prolonged filtration. The light is sufficiently bright for supporting easy aquatic plants but does not include a power adapter, only a USB connection is available.
