The media could not be loaded. I was really excited when this toy road truck arrived because I knew my grandson would love it. What I liked right away is that it came ready to use. It even included a small screwdriver, which was a nice bonus and made opening the battery compartment a piece of cake! The set came with two rechargeable batteries for the truck and a charger. The first battery I tried was already charged, so it was ready to go right out of the box. I just had to open the compartment and connect it and close it back. For the remote control, I decided to use my own AA battery for the remote. Again, it was easy to open using the screwdriver provided. One downside is that it didn’t come with instructions. Not a huge deal since it’s pretty straightforward to use, but instructions would have been helpful—especially for figuring out how to get the steering to work. On the front of the truck, when you flip it over, there’s a center slot shaped like a disc with raised ridges, with one section slightly higher than the rest. I moved this part all the way to the left, and after that, the wheels responded properly to the remote. Before adjusting it, the wheels weren’t turning. The truck is fast and fun, and my grandson had a blast with it. So far, I’ve only tested it inside the house and not outdoors.

I am very sorry to report I had a bad experience with this product. I would love to help the manufacturer out with some solid thoughts on why this particular one didn't work well. First off, it is worth talking about what you do get. You get the car, two batteries, a charger, and a small tool for installing the battery in the car and controller. The controller requires AA batteries (not included). The car has a large compartment for the included LiPo cells (only one fits at a time). The main issues with this car include the non-proportional steering, incredibly weak steering servo, and rear "double axle" design. These all combine to create a situation for this car that simply makes it not fun to drive. The steering is inconsistent at a best due to the weak servo. It is very hard to control the car. This was a big design flaw due to the heavier triple axle design. Next, the rear double axle module is too flexible and the two rear drive wheels (which are diff locked) make contact causing drive issues. These combine with the weak servo to make steering even harder. In addition to the above, the USB charger came apart during normal use. These chargers are known for being a potential risk among RC hobbyists, so it is unfortunate a higher quality charger wasn't included. I think this particular car needs to go back to the drawing board. I cannot recommend it, even as a simple toy car for a beginner. I think most children, and their adults, will find it frustrating to use.

This is a RC toy, and it’s a very good toy for the price range. I am going to tell you the limitations of what this toy grade RC can do and can’t do. I am trying to help you understand if this is right for you or not. If you’re child is going to drive this on the kitchen floor, the living room carpet, the sidewalk or patio, it’s going to perform fine. If you want something that’s going to drive quickly over tougher terrain like dirt and grass and consistently perform well in those conditions, you need to go up to the next step in toy grade RC’s. What I really like about it, it’s got a cool look with the 6 wheels and the lift kit, and it has decent traction, and it’s a little bit faster than other toys in this range. It is not much for climbing ability’s. I was able to drive this over and down the flat dirt path my rock crawler takes and it did well for itself, but uphill on any dirt and it stops at the slightest incline. That’s really because it’s so light the tires just spin. It’s not a crawler, it’s a toy, so better suited for carpet and living room action , and maybe some hard flat dirt. It also struggled in grass as well because it’s so light it can’t get weight on the tires in the grass. This is all normal for a small toy Rc. It’s meant to work indoors or on the sidewalk. The only actual problem, and I don’t know if it’s just this one, but the steering was not great. It was shallow and could use to be a stronger for sure. I deducted 1 star for the steering, other than that, it’s a solid value for the range. Other than that steering strength issue it is well made. More info: it has good battery life. The steering is variable, it’s full on or full off. The two rear tires run full time under the motor so it’s 4 wheel drive, and the front two steer the car but they had no power from the motor. The rechargeable battery took 2 plus hours to ba charged from completely dead, and it lasted between 30-40 minutes of drive time. There are two batteries included. The controller takes 2 double AA batteries, not included, and you need to use the provided screwdriver to access the batteries in the controller and also the battery for the car has a screwed down cover. The controller seems to not have an on off switch. Mine has a button that doesn’t do anything, and maybe on some of them that functions as an on off. I just took to leaving the screw out of the controller plate and pulling the batteries when I wasn’t using it. The controller is small enough for very small hands, which is a good thing for a gift. Many RC controllers are too big for little hands. Lastly, I always search for parts , and I couldn’t find replacement parts available for the vehicle.
