  • Excellent in every way, hobby grade
The media could not be loaded. I cannot say enough nice things about this truck. Its become my favorite thing recentlt and ove only had it for a month. So we Can't use my fully built 60mph+ Nitro RC's anymore due to new city ordinance so I Bought this rig to try some new stuff out and WOW. I didn't expect much, but this little Grando outperformed in literally every way. I was never into the crawlers before, but i can't stop looking for trails now with this rig. PRO's: Compared to other 1/10 scale crawlers, this thing has it all for much less money including lights and a functional power winch. The differentials are all metal and the overall quality is excellent for this price point. Tires are very grippy and has all metal suspension links and tie rod/drag link 2 speed transmission gives a decent low gear for digging out and does jogging speed ~7mph out of the box in 2nd gear Comes with a battery Metal frame rails and very rigid frame support Willingly climbs pretty much anything Actually has enough power to spin all 4 wheels on pavement in 2nd gear Likes to 3-wheel around corners Fully locked 1:1 diffs Frame and driveline is compatible with most SCX10 parts when replacements/upgrades are needed Ready to run out of the box CON's: Too light out of the box, must add axle weight Top speed is too slow to take on a long trail with stock components/battery 35t motor eats too much power on stock equipment All gearboxes are bone dry so you must lubricate before operating, especially the transmission Takes a little setting up to make it reliable like all equipment 6Kg steering servo could definitely use an upgrade Out of the box, its great. It goes up and down hills at walking speed and rolls over for free- "Good Boi" Factory 1800mah Battery lasts about 20 minutes of nonstop use. 2 of them (1800NiMH) also lasts about 20 minutes of good use depending on the terrain. Upgrades are pretty much necessary for anyone over 11 years old Its fantastic, but with some upgrades it becomes addictive and probably my favorite new toy. I added about 2lbs in brass weights on the axles and frame, upgraded to twin 2s LiPO 5200mah batteries, dropped in a brushless 5700kv 3650 motor and 120A esc, some basic lights, 17mm weighted brass wheel spacers and painted the stock body. I'm 100% satisfied with it. It's a little basic when it shows up, but it's all there to make a sweet rig. I paid 160 for the truck and about 160 in upgrades and I'm still under the entry level price point for the SCX10-ii so I feel like this rig is all around a very good deal 👌 Yeah the end points for the transmission need to be adjusted, the drag link needs to be changed out for an adjustable one, the diffs and trans need grease and the shocks need oil but after all that's done you have a very nice very capable little rig that just gives you a reason to take the dog for a longer walk. After its dialed in with parts, it does about 40mph and has enough power to defy gravity so the only upgrades left are quality of life updates like better body and transmission, maybe convert the axles to all metal and add even more weight Overall, I HIGHLY recommend this rig for hobby enthusiasts or noobs alike. It's perfect to start or even better to build! You can't go wrong with this thing. Check out my photos- after i got some parts on it i can't stop playing with it! ... show more

  • Cheap crawlers are getting GOOD
Bought this to give to my buddy so he and his kid can play with one - I have a couple of Element Enduros and a Redcat Gen 7 Pro in the fleet, so I had other "mid range" stuff to compare against. I came away IMPRESSED. Build quality felt very good, uses hex hardware (my baseline for "is this actually hobby grade"), has a two-speed transmission (servo might need a touch of endpoint adjustment but it works!), and there's a freaking winch? Even if I never USED the winch, I'd still want it for flexing on fools. The body is a bit gaudy - I wish the blue one was in stock, that's really my only aesthetic complaint. The color on the suspension links is really good, the whole thing manages to feel special...and I got it for like $150. Only things you need to really make this sucker sing are some better tires (stock are not great) and lighter weight oil in the shocks - feels a bit stiff out of the box. Past that? No complaints, this will keep up with your buddy's trail rig, no problem. As a crawler...I don't know. Not my ideal weight distribution, but the two speed trans is a great selling point. If you're on the fence about it because the company name is kinda dumb, get over it and pull the trigger. It's great! ... show more

  • Good one to start with
I really like this rc, the first one (the blue truck body) I found it in a river after a flood, after some slight repairs it still runs today! The other one is stock and arrived today so only about ran for 1 hour and only for braking in and checking to inshore it operated as it should, so far it’s grate! Over all there fun crawlers, my blue one has a 4500kv motor, skid plates and upgraded esc with gyro support , metal internal gearing, still a 2 speed transmission, the winch also still works, the only thing the blue one doesn’t have is lights, just not installed yet, the options for customizing is a large range to chose compared to some other brands ... show more

  • Great value,
So this is my second crawler from this company and I got to tell you it’s a great value. I have over 25 rc vehicles including TRX4’s and custom $1k competition crawlers. The tires leave a little to be desired they are soft but not a very sticky compound. Switch out the tires and wheels for some Proline Hyrax, or J-Concepts tusks. Slap on some dessert lizzard shocks and you will have a decent scale crawler. If you are looking for a solid trail rig than this will deliver. My 2 speed transmission did have a little trouble staying in high gear and would periodically pop into neutral but some minor adjustments to the servo end points solved that issue. I bought this with the intentions to strip it down and turn it into an old school drift toy. The motor provided isn’t labeled but feels like about a 20t or so motor which is good for trail but if ur gonna primarily use on rocks I would throw a higher turn motor like a Holmes 55t All in all a really good value Comes with a de-branded 6 channel dumbo RX/TX which are great. Great first, entry level hobby grade crawler and pretty durable for kids as well. The only thing that I would recommend as a better value is a Redcat gen8 if you can catch one on sale. ... show more
