  • So extremely fragile.
I bought this one (more expensive) for me and the legend (less expensive) for my son, and a $70 one from Walmart online. The two cheaper ones have been ran into trees, benches, off play ground equipment, rolled probably hundreds of times etc. Mine hit a divot and went rolling once and it broke both mounts for the body. I used epoxy and hot glue to hold them firm. They are good now, kind of. The next time out I was driving it on a sidewalk, along with my son and daughter and we cut a corner through grass onto another sidewalk. Again, the two cheaper ones were fine, mine broke the front suspension. The kids have played with their cheapies all summer, and i finally got around to mine and got it fixed yesterday (after nearly a year of it sitting in my closet) and last night we went out and played. We drove them up and down a dirt hill and they were jumping theirs (a little hill about a foot high total), me being a cool dad tried to jump mine too and it broke the front bumper off when it landed and hit a small rock, about the side of a golf ball (car is pretty flat flying at least lol). I'll own that as it hit a rock, but the cheap ones seem to hold up a lot better. So I epoxied it together last night and we went out again today. Going off a curb, my car lost it's right rear wheel. A curb, 4-6 inches right? It landed flat and straight. But lost the wheel and now it's broken. It's way to expensive for this low of quality. There's all kinds of metal upgrades I've seen online and now I know why. The remote and batteries do last a long time. I think it says 40 minutes but considering I've only ever charged it once, a year ago, and it was still going strong today I'd say the batteries do last lol. I have about 30 minutes or less of play time with this car. I would definitely not buy this car, not worth the 70 I paid for my daughter's lol. ... show more

  • Not for huge jumps and thrashing straight out of the box..
First you need to decide what kind of driving your wanting to do with this rc. For its price point its extremely fast and fun to run as long as your not jumping it or using it in areas where youll probably crash into stuff. Also not a car i would buy as my 1st rc. Youll want to do yourself a favor and upgrade the front control arms, suspension holders and shock tower with the carbon shock tower and aluminum suspension parts. I put about 250$ on top of the purchase price to get mine to the point where in comfortable jumping it off dirt jumps and thrashing it a bit. I enjoy tinkering on it and upgrading parts so if you're not like me youll probably want to go another direction and get something more durable right out the box since this car has all metal drivetrain but all the other pieces are the weak points that are still plastic and youll easily break them. At this point ive got all aluminum pieces possible and have upgraded the esc for even more speed and torque but it can run 3s out of the box which really wakes this rc up but youll most definitely break stuff running it on 3s. New tires and changing out the oil in the shocks to like 50-70wt oil will really help with the body roll and jump landings.. All this being said laegendary backs their cars well and when my car broke stuff they sent me parts for free within the first year of owning it. Just dont tell them if you did some crazy things with it and it broke that way.! If you did then its on you then and youll be paying for the new parts. "Fryracing" amazon seller has all the aluminum parts available and they are who ive bought all my stuff from. To wrap this up my opinion is that this is a fun budget car that you can throw a few upgrades on and smoke the more expensive rcs in speed and handling just dont expect it to do backflips n land as hard as the traxxis or arrma top end rcs do and keep going like nothing happened. Tinkering on it was and still is a large part of the enjoyment i get out of it. (A good dremel will be your best friend) Its just not a stunt monster more of a racer. ... show more

  • Great RC Car
These things are great and fast. Only complaint if you could call it that is the plastic parts that I keep having to replace with aluminum parts. The plastic just doesn't hold up.

  • Breaks EASY
So the truck is fastish out the gate on a 2s lipo that comes with it. Place a 3s and it hits about 48 or so. So a pretty quick truck over all. Now for the reason for the low rating. PARTS: While it is like most RC trucks pretty easy to work on. The issue I have had is that the plastic parts are cheaply made. Even the replacements are junk. In 1 year of use I am now on my 3rd bulk head. 5 min after running wheelie bar broke clean off. Am now on my 3rd bulk head, 2nd set of control arms. Went aluminum for the upgrade. Steering servo was slow so slapped in a used one much better response time. Axle shafts are flimsy for the power this made. Drive shaft bent on 3rd run in a baseball field. Constantly had to buy replacements. The small sizing of the truck makes almost impossible to upgrade with quality parts as they do not fit. Truck is now in pieces and being used for salvage parts. Cost more to keep repairing then it is worth. While the price looks attractive, Save a little longer and get a better quality truck. Or go cheaper and get a leagendary Sonic. That one is a tank. ... show more
