Kit fit up well in my 02 tj. I had to trim the hard guard to clear 2 spots see photos. The fuel rail piece was almost perfect but I did add some ss zip toes for extra caution. I was nervous about thr o rings for injectors but so far so good no leaks. My issue was hot starts on hot days. I'd park and if I didn't give it time to cool I couldn't get it to start unless I burped the pressure off the fuel rail. The new gas would be liquid and would start back up. This has solved that and at a good price. I would rec9mmend but they make this to fit alot of models so you'll have to do some fine tuning

The manifold shield is thick and sturdy. Does require removal of fuel rail for proper installation. Coverage for the manifold is better than the flimsy OEM cover! You will need to make slots for mounting tabs on the fuel rail and may have to adjust the injector holes. The injector covers slip right on and will require the injectors to be removed (easier to slip on with velcro closed). Overall this kit took a little over an hour to install with a 10mm socket and open end wrench. You'll need to have the proper tool to remove the fuel supply line from the injector rail and is a good time to cover the fuel line down to the firewall as well. Really good value!

This is exactly what I needed for my 2000 jeep Cherokee 4.0 L straight six. If you own a jeep with one of these engines on hot days, surely you came across the heat soak issue. The heat from the exhaust manifold vaporizes the fuel in the fuel rail. That creates a multiple cylinder misfire when trying to start and it stumbles the engine. This heat shield insulator kit helps prevent that from happening. So far it has been extremely helpful to have this installed. I noticed when I go to start my jeep after being in the grocery store I haven’t had any issues starting. So far so good. Was much needed in my case.

The XJs are known for suffering from overheating, specially sometimes when you are idling in traffic or for those that may be crawling on the trail. This little heat shield helps reduce the heat soak on your fuel rail. There are no install instructions and there is some disassembly needed to get things to fit, and there are some things that don't line up as well as I would have hoped. Definitely not as simple as it would look to install. Also, word to the wise, wear long sleeves and gloves when handling if you do not want to be itchy later. There is a layer of fiberglass that may get on your skin and cause irritation and itching.

Installed easily, I cut a few slots in the fuel rail insulation so that I would not need to fully disassemble to install. Hopeful to prevent fuel vapor lock when wheeling XJ.

This is something that should have come factory in the 4.0’s. Since it didn’t, you really need to get it now. The idea is that is shields the fuel rail and injectors from heat soak off the exhaust that can boil your fuel and cause vapor lock. If you use your jeep for off-roading in slow environments this is a common occurrence. For me, I’ve had a makeshift one I put together with insulation material, but it’s never looked good. This looks good and is so much more effective. It’s really a well made kit! My only gripe is it has no instructions. It would be nice to have a little indication on what they are expecting as far as placement for each piece. It’s pretty easy to figure out, but would take it to a higher level if it was included. Overall, it’s well made and comes with what you need. I’m anxious to get it one before it gets too hot this summer!
