abunda_amazon_reviews I ordered two of these to stand side by side, allowing me to spread out some of my books. They arrived in perfect condition, were easy to put together, had all the pieces included, and were without any blemishes or flaws. These are beautiful, sturdy and very economical. I've attached a photo of them the day I received and assembled them. I'm a 66-year-old, small, non-handy female; and these bookcases were no problem for me to assemble. I highly recommend them, and I am enjoying having more book shelves in the house. I plan on buying more in this line as needed since books proliferate and I can't seem to part with them.;;Reviewed in the United States on September 20, 2015;;5.0 out of 5 stars;;Very pleased with these beautiful, sturdy bookcases;;Booklover in AZ;;;I'm enormously pleased with this. I'm a college student on a limited budget and I have over 100 books in my current apartment. Armed with only a screwdriver and a hammer, I put these shelves together in about 20 minutes and - voila! The directions were simple, sounded like they were actually written in English and not Google-translated from Chinese, and all of the boards aligned with each other. The shelves are deep, so if needed you can stack extra books behind the first row. While I wouldn't place this bookcase next to where I sleep without fastening it to the wall, it does seem sturdy. I am not going to fasten mine to the wall. It's true that the back is cardboard, but you nail it to the shelves so it's on tight. I see no reason to prefer corkboard; from afar it's impossible to tell that it's cardboard, and who's going to be touching and inspecting the material? Overall it's affordable, easy to put together, can handle a considerable number of books (or trinkets, etc.), and well-made. I bought another bookshelf from Sauder last year and they're both great. I think highly of the company.;;Reviewed in the United States on September 12, 2015;;5.0 out of 5 stars;;exactly what you're looking for;;H.;;;Let me start by saying that I have purchased and assembled a LOT of Sauder products over the years. This one is not good. 1. When they say "don't stand it up unless the (cardboard) backing sheet is attached," it's absolutely true. Top board and bottom board are held in place with only 2 screws from each side. One hole was mis-drilled, so it didn't line up properly and give a flat surface at the corner to attach the backing to. 2. All you get to attach the backing is tiny, flimsy little tacking nails. At least the older products came with nails that had heads. 3. The "support pins" that hold the movable shelves are tiny, made of cheap plastic. As soon as I have time, I will drill out the holes a bit and change to metal 'spade' supports from the hardware store. 4. The first time the unit is moved or stressed, the nails holding the backing will pop out, the backing tears/rips and it will never be usable again. Fortunately, I know a solution (learned from a GREAT product from another supplier). If you carefully drill pilot holes through the backing into the pressed board and use tiny screws instead of the nails provided, it's solid, strong and decent. It's obvious how many quality corners have been cut to save a few pennies on production cost. If you are willing to invest the time, drill pilot holes and use screws, it's a passable, low cost solution. As shipped, it doesn't make the grade in my personal opinion. Sauder used to be better than this.;;Reviewed in the United States on March 23, 2019;;1.0 out of 5 stars;;Cheap, shoddy, poor manufacture;;SaxPlayer;;;I've purchased a ton of assembly required furniture over the years. Everything in my house has at least one piece of furniture from Ikea including two TV stands, a bookcase, and 7 dressers and end tables with so. many. drawers. Rather than driving the Ikea and purchasing a small white Billy bookcase, I ordered this one on Amazon due to the extreme convenience of having it delivered to my house. I wish I had gone to Ikea. The bookcase was relatively easy to assemble with one phillips head screwdriver. The issue, however, was discovered once I had already assembled the frame and was inserting the little shelf pins into the holes. The shelves don't have any notches on the bottom of them to sit around the shelf pins to prevent them from being pulled forward and sliding out of the bookcase. I bought this bookcase for my toddler daughter's room so this proved to be a problem. I thought that I would try to glue the shelf in place and if that doesn't work, have my husband secure the shelves with brackets or something. Then I realized that there's no wall anchor to secure the bookcase to the wall and prevent it from tipping over altogether. Ok, I guess I'll have to order one of those. I hammered the cardboard backing to the bookcase, which went as expected but then as I stood the bookcase up and moved it into position, the shelves pushed into the back of the bookcase (because they're just sitting there on top of these pins with nothing to secure them in place) and it ripped the nails through the cardboard. This bookcase is a gigantic piece of crap and I would highly recommend you just drive to Ikea or order some other bookcase. Don't buy this one.;;Reviewed in the United States on January 31, 2019;;1.0 out of 5 stars;;Probably the worst piece of "furniture" I've ever purchased;;Amazon Customer;;;We needed a simple small white bookshelf for our baby’s nursery. It was going to be stuck in a corner so it didn’t need to look fancy or catch any attention. It just needed to hold all her books and her two toy bins. For some reason I had a ton of trouble finding anything under $100 that was the right size for our room and offered adjustable height shelves (many baby books are too tall for the standard 12inch cube shelves). This bookshelf is pretty much identical to the ones sold at stores like Walmart and target during the back to school season, that I found impossible to locate in May. It was easy to assemble (I did it myself with no issues at 9 months pregnant) and does exactly what I needed it to. All of her books fit perfectly with the spines out because I was able to make the top shelf taller for the big books and the middle shelf shorter for board books. The only thing that would have been nice would be to have those little plastic caps you hammer onto the screw heads to cover them. This shelf came with stickers to cover the screws which just seemed silly. They were the wrong color and didn’t even stick to the screws. Because of where the shelf is placed the appearance of the screws is really a non-issue for me, so it wouldn’t deter me from buying again if I needed another shelf.;;Reviewed in the United States on May 19, 2019;;4.0 out of 5 stars;;Perfect cheap bookshelf;;Emily Carmel
