In the instructions for the Zulay manual rotary grater & slicer it says that the blades are VERY sharp. THEY ARE NOT! Makes it very difficult to shred something hard like potatoes (I can’t imagine how difficult carrots will be!). However, so far the grater has done an adequate job at grating potatoes, just be prepared for a fight. Several times I had to stop turning the grater one way, turn it momentarily the opposite direction, to get another stab at it. Plastic hasn’t broken, or indicated it might, and the blade itself has not bent from pressing the potato into the blade. A box shredder is by far sharper, albeit more prone to grating flesh. I like this product, but I can’t see using this very regularly because of the dull blades. I will look for a way to sharpen the blades, but I hate to do that with a product that really should be sharper.

Ordered the black one and wow is this a great product. I like the back story they have as well, documentation sent along with the product upon purchase and on the box. Cool story of how the family business was started and continues today - they care about customer support. This works great (tried it with cheese, onions, cucumbers, cabbage, carrots and peppers so far) and the suction is super strong. Like that you can take it all apart for ease of cleaning and storage. Best cheese / vegetable /nut grader on amazon!!!

I love this grater it is so easy to use and it grates really fast and the suction works so good no problem with it lossening up while turning the handle stays very stable. I mostly use it for grating cheese and carrots and it works very very well and fast. I wash the feeding jar and food pusher in soapy water hand dry and put away. I wash the metal grater part in the diswasher. It arrived on time and was boxed very well very please with this purchase.

I love this cheese grater! The only issue that I have with it is that the suction is not the best to keep it anchored down. I wish that there was a better way to anchor it down better. Otherwise, it works great!

It's super fast and easy, but the clear housing that holds the grater seems to be wearing away, and while I haven't seen any if the plastic in the food, it's the only place it could be going. Suction is strong, easy to clean.
