I bought this model after 2 days of doing research on many brands and models. I am glad that I did. I tried this for shredding mozzarella a soft cheese for pizza and it did the job really easy and fast and that was 2 8 oz blocks. I tried it for hash browns and again it did the work fast. The chute opening is large and does not clog. The only issue I see is that if you have old tile counter tops it will not suction so I put it on my stove and the base sucked down real easy and sturdy and did not move. No problem so if you have flat counter top it should work great. I like the fact it cleans up very easily and swapping out the blades is quick and simple. I like the blades case but I wish it had a lid and blade identification names but does not. They should label the blades as well but do not. I went to YouTube and watched a video and saw what each blade was as thecmanual pictures of the blades is black and white and not clear. In the end this is a 5 star item and no more stubbed fingers from my box grater. Buy it as you will not be dissapointed

Their customer support rocks!! Like a dummy, when my shredder arrived, I parked it on a bench. My life got busy. The box was solid & sturdy, and it wasn't until after the 30 day span that I opened it and found it broken. I contacted Zulay and received an immediate response. They sent out a new shredder. Shout out to Lei, and Yna! I've used this shredder for cheese and vegetables with no issues. An outstanding product with an awesome customer support!!

So for the longest time. I’ve been waiting to purchase this kitchen gadget to lesson my shedding of cheese for meals. Finally was able to order it. I thought for sure it suctioned on the counter. This one doesn’t. I knew I should have went with the other brand name. Giving four stars because since I can manage holding on to it to turn it it does shred some nice size cheese and a lot better than the hand held ones. I will only be using just for cheese because most my meals don’t contain other veggies but if I have to for a big family night dinner and making a meal that calls for other veggies I have high hope it will do its job like it did on the cheese.

I’ve been trying to get away from pre-grated cheese due to the preservatives aspect. Prior to obtaining this wonderful tool, I tried both a flat grater and a pyramid grater and it was not only slow and laborious but difficult to not hurt yourself with. I picked this Zulay up and WOW. Simple but effective mechanism, super easy to disassemble and clean, looks good! What’s not to like? Just 4 turns of the crank and I have all the cheese I need! PRO TIP: Wet the bottom if you want the suction cup aspect (which is also great!) to hold onto your countertop for a while!

I received this today and immediately had to try it out. The assembly was easy, but I have to admit the instructions included were not very clear. I figured it out in just a few minutes. The suction is incredible on my granite countertop. I shredded a block of sharp cheddar cheese in less than 2 minutes. I was afraid it would be hard to turn the handle, but not at all! I hand washed the parts that needed cleaning. The brush was an added bonus, as was the included storage container for the different blades. I will try potatoes next. This was so much easier and faster than my flat grater over a bowl!

Pros: Rotary graters like Zulay are faster and are easier to use than any other type of vegetable grater/slicer. They have no problem with soft vegetables like squash or cucumber. Hard vegetables like carrots require more effort but are worth the trouble given how fast this device works. The blade storage unit conveniently holds four pairs of blades, with the fifth pair kept on the blade holder. Cons: My grater came with a hopper that unlocks and slides on the base during use without the button being pressed. I contacted Zulay about this problem and they sent me a replacement hopper that had the same problem. Apparently the base has a track that is a bit too wide. Anyway, I'll try using a thin strip of plastic within the base track to make it narrower. Perhaps that will work. The suction cup on the base needs to be round rather than square to minimize the chance of air leakage that eliminates suction. Carrots and beets create orange and red stains on the white plastic blade holders and blades. Chose any color plastic except white for the blade holder so the stains will not show. Observations: The thin and wavy slices come out slightly arched, not flat, because the rotary device cuts in a circle. For the suction cup to work properly, debris must be cleaned off the bottom of the soft rubber suction cup, and the smooth surface on which it is to be placed, every time before it is used.
