UPDATE: Almost a year later and the sink still looks great! The thickness of the metal is more than enough for a home kitchen. With daily use, I have no dents, but I have scratches from a very heavy crock pot bottom. My fault for dragging the unglazed portion of the pot against the sink bottom. Other than that, the sink looks just like the day I installed it. Just simple daily wiping and I don't even have water spots on the rim area. The bottom has some deadening material installed on the back the sink sounds solid. I really don't think spending 2 or 3 times the price will give you anything better! Original: This sink has a lot of value for the money. Having to make your own holes may seem like a hassle for some, but to be able to put your soap dispenser, RO water dispenser and other plumbing items exactly where you want them, it's awesome. The metal is not the thickest, but more than sturdy enough for a household kitchen. Its large size and greater depth, makes for a sink that can handle a lot of dishes or large pots. Sound isolation makes it quieter than the sink that came with my home. Using a knock out punch made making holes extremely easy. It came in prefect condition and is well protected in the shipping box. Great value! ... show more

Regarding sinks in general: the dual sink is worthless for anyone who has a dishwasher. I put my small to medium sized dishes in the washer; the sink for them is at most a temporary place to pre-rinse or store while the washer is unloaded. I use the sink to hand-wash the larger things like pans, cooking sheets, strainers, and large baking containers. Most of those larger containers will not fit in the dual sink, which is really annoying. So anyway the main purpose for which I use the sink, the dual sink is awful. I replaced my sink and faucet with this large single sink and a large "restaurant style" sprayer/faucet. Both of these items were inexpensive and both were vastly superior to the "typical" setup that you will find in American homes. The hold down clamps it comes with are excellent, sturdy and easy to install. I did find one scuff mark on the back, but I look at the price of this and note that it is lower than what you would pay at the "scratch and dent" retail outlet, so you can't really go wrong. The fact that it has one hole for the faucet is a plus since I much prefer the "both in one" faucet/sprayer design for it's simplicity of use and 1 less hose underneath. Speaking of that, because the single sink has only one drain, the pipes under your counter are going to become simplified, and you will have more space under there compared to the double sink setup. (You will need to get a PVC under-sink kit if you are switching setups and don't already have the pipes and fittings) Conclusion: the large SINGLE sink is a good product and outstanding value. ... show more

I replaced an old rusted cast-iron sink with this one. It fit perfectly, it drains well, and it looks great. I highly recommend installing the Fossett before installing the sink.

Small dent in the rim at the back of the sink. The box was damaged but I doubt this caused the dent. At any rate, I gently removed the dent and it will be fine. The sink appears to be exactly what I was looking for and looks very nice.

into precut countertop. I purchased this as a replacement during my own home remodeling project and am totally satisfied with this sink. Handles the recommended 3/8" / 10mm continuous bead of GE Silicone 2 caulk like it was made for it (almost a whole tube) but it will never leak in my lifetime or until Aquarius. 1, removed old sink 2, cleaned perimeter of Formica with dish soap and putty knife Dry area 3 (start clock) caulk new drop in sink 4, lowered into cut out eyeball it not too much touching light alignment by hand to square 5, check for level (elapsed time 8 min) and press down sides to adjust 6, let silicone skin and clean off around the outer edge where meets countertop Next installed drain after about two hours caulk cure time and completed plumbing connections under sink. Did not place any heavy weight in it for about 12 hours but washed plates in hot water to help melt plumber's putty in drain seal before check for bottom nut snugness.
