This portable power pruning shear is awesome for spring time, when I needed to trim all excess branches from my fruit trees so that new branches and buds can sprout. This is pretty light weight but it's powerful and very sharp. I can cut branches up to 1" in diameter without any problem, the cut is straight and very clean, not unlike when using a manual pruning lopper which might damage the barks around the cuttings. This tool is very well design, the handle is small and fit right in my palm so using it to trim for an hour or more doesn't really make my hand tires at, where using the manual pruner can get tired very quickly because i have to really squeeze the pruner to make the cut. Battery life is also awesome, on a full charge, I used it for more than an hour to prune 8 trees total and it still have almost half life left. Everything comes in a good plastic case too, help keeping all accessories together. It's definitely one of a must have tool for gardening. ... show more

I've seen reviews from people that had problems with this pruner, but I have had none. The battery life is amazing. I can do several hundreds of cuts before the shears shut down. The battery will recharge in a relatively short time while I'm using the second battery. The initial battery charge time out of the box seemed a bit long but that may be the "watched pot never boils" syndrome. I have very bad osteoarthritis in my thumbs as well as in my hips and back. Using a manual hand pruner took forever and hurt so bad the next day. I still feel some pain the next day even after using these, but not as bad, and I have accomplished much much more, so it's worth it to me. I've been able to fill my trash cans with probably 3 times the amount of cuttings because I am able to cut the brush into much smaller pieces. The shears tend to get pretty hot even in a gloved hand after using it for very long periods, but it doesn't seem to affect them in any way. ... show more

Unacceptably Poor Quality. Unacceptably poor Reliability. Failed the first day. Worked for about an hour to hour and a half. I thought it had stopped working due to short battery life. No It just died permanently. Replacement of battery with a fully charged battery made no difference. If it matters it was fairly powerful in cutting. The operation was somewhat complex. Having to hold the trigger to change width of blade opening. Having to double click to get it started. Instruction book inaccurate and poor at best. This product is a fine example of Chinese design and manufacturing quality,(or severe lack thereof.) Don't waste your time or money on this paper weight. Returning product today. ... show more

This trimmer saves a lot of time, especially when cutting pieces to go into the trash can. But, it really can't do more than 1/2". When you try to do larger pieces the gears slip.

    • Wonderful pruning shears but charger doesn’t work
I was very happy with these shears when I received them. They worked fantastically without even charging the batteries up completely, and would easily cut thru 3/4 inch thick branches. But finally I needed to charge the batteries, and then discovered the charger did not work. There were no indicator lights on the charger, and no charge occurred even after leaving it hooked up for 5 hours. I returned it for another one exactly the same, and exactly like the first one the charger did not function. It would be a great product if the battery charger worked. I had to send the second one back as well, this time for a refund. ... show more
