It definitely cannot be used as a sleeping mat. Too thin to lie on it comfortably. It's not soft nor cushiony. Unfortunately, I can't return it since we used it for guests the day after its delivery. It also could not be covered using a queen size fitted sheet. It kept curling up on the edges and just didn't fit. King size fitted sheet was too big. It's a good value for the price and very convenient as a portable mattress. I like to lay down and hang out on the floor, and it's comfortable enough for me since I sleep better on a firm surface. I chose the thinnest option because I wanted it to be easy to fold and not too heavy when traveling, and it does the job well. I would even take it camping. However, if you're not looking for a portable mattress, there are other brands that are more comfortable.
