I was initially a little skeptical about Buoyancy Shorts in general. My concerns were totally unfounded. I was very pleasantly surprised that they exceeded my most optimistic expectations. I could a really tell a big difference in just the first few strokes. They really made some very favorable changes to my body position in the water, muscle development, and muscle memory. I've already ordered the 3/2 Next Step one. They're not cheap but the value and improvement really exceed what you pay by a wide margin. I'd highly recommend them.

Bought these in 2017 , but weather and a natural disaster prevented me from using them until February of 2019. My buoyancy is increased as well as well as my confidence. Have been using them at least 3 time a week for well over a year and they are in perfect condition. Very sorry to see these excellent swimming shorts are no longer available .

A medium fit me very well, so I re-ordered the same; it is much smaller and barely fits. Otherwise they are great for practice swimming, helps get your butt up. The chlorine in pools will eventually wear them out after a few years.

They are easier to put on than the shorts I have been using, and when I went swimming in them for the first time, I liked them. Having the 5 mm neoprene on the side and having it wrap to the bottom front of the shorts seems like a better design than my old ones with 5mm on the entire front to 3 cm above the bottom. Zone 3's design is totally effective from the standpoint of buoyancy and may be better than my old shorts in terms of body rotation control.

I was struggling with sinking legs and endurance. These provided just enough buoyancy and helped me improve my body position in the water and build endurance. They are perfect for training.

Lightweight, they function fine as buoyancy shorts. VERY snug at first, especially in the waist and crotch for a man. (They're unisex--they look like a women's cut). But fit is okay (I have a 34" waist, and pretty big quads from cycling, but large was the right call). After about 10 swims, however (mostly in the pool, once open water), the waistband, which is of different material than the rest of the suit, discolored to a mustardy-brown and became pilly. It appears to be deteriorating rapidly. I always carefully rinse in fresh water for several minutes after each swim. So I won't be buying their product again. Xterra and Tyr buoyancy shorts have proven much more durable (and you can often find Tyr for a good deal less than other brands, including Zone 3). I'd be less dissatisfied if I'd paid half the price, which is maybe all they're worth.

The waist string area of the suit deteriorated in 3 months. Other than that, If you use it in the ocean or salt water pools I'm sure it will last. Good quality otherwise and gives proper buoyancy.

I’m an adult learning to swim - one of the challenges for my lean body type is that legs sink making it hard to float. These shorts provide maybe a pound or so of buoyancy that is just enough to get my lower abdomen up and afloat, which then pulls the legs up with it. Made a big big difference to my first few lessons and helped me gain confidence as i learned to swim. They fit very snug but not uncomfortable.
