I love to get these for the kids in my life. Some of them use them for anxiety and just scratch off the whole entire thing. Others, like to find a picture to copy. And still, there's the creative "self-designers". Either way, these heart-shaped designs are fun and typical of other rainbow scratch paper products that I've purchased. Buyers should beware of a few things, though. This set only contains 5 wooden "pens". If you have 160 hearts, you cannot give out 160 "sets". Toothpicks are not as good, but they do scratch the paper, so do coins (like a scratch ticket). In all of the sets I've purchased, there will be black residue to clean up afterwards. This residue can (and probably will) smudge on other surfaces so put down some paper towels or similar dry cleaning option. This particular set had a lot of paper shavings to deal with too. I think it was the curve of the heart design. But, I had to fan these out and wipe them off over a garbage can so that there wouldn't be a mess. If you've never used this material before, you should also know to be careful with fingernails or other items that might scratch the surface by accident. I tested this out and there are light lines that show up at certain angles but didn't go past the black until I used a little pressure on purpose. These "notes" would be very cute to give out to kids/adults as presents. You can enjoy these easily for any age that knows not to eat the black residue or put the paper in one's mouth. The set was $9 at my time of purchase and at that price, I would buy it again if/when we run out. ... show more

These Rainbow Scratch Notes are a creative and fun way to jazz up a gift, make a unique card or give kids something to do on a rainy day. The box includes 160 note cards and five wooden styluses. The styluses are sort of like small wooden skewers or perhaps oversized toothpicks, and they are somewhat sharp on one end. While the box says the product is recommended for anyone over the age of three, I think I'd raise that a few years simply because the sticks could be harmful in the wrong hands. The note cards themselves are about the size of a standard sticky note. Each card is coated in a black substance that is similar to the coating on scratch off lottery cards. Instead of scratching off the coating to reveal a lottery number beneath, you use the stylus to etch drawings, words or designs into the coating, which has a rainbow of colors beneath. The description says that there isn't a lot of mess with these cards, and that's true to an extent. If you are only etching some words onto the cards, you aren't going to create much dust, but if you scratch off a lot of the coating, there's going to be a lot of residue. Overall, it's a fun way to get creative, even for those without a lot of artistic ability. It can also be quite therapeutic to simply scratch off the coating. ... show more

This is a nice set of heart-shaped rainbow scratch paper. One shouldn't get fooled by the photoshopped product pictures, but they do work well, as you can see from the pictures. The included styluses are quite small, but fortunately we have larger ones from a different set. For some reason, these things are all the rage with kids right now. I ordered these for a fun activity for our Daisy troop. The kids think itโ€™s straight up MAGIC. They all wrote little notes to each. It was adorable. Overall, we enjoyed them but I do with there were more of the scratch off sticks. I got these to write notes when I want them to be snazzy, but without the amount of space available on a card. I feel like these fit that description nicely, I can get two short sentences on one. These are just a bit bigger than a sticky note, but they arenโ€™t nearly as easy to write on. The tiny little toothpick-esque writing implement is kind of hard to use, my hand hurt after 4 notes. Itโ€™s a stylus in the way a golf pencil it is a pencil. There are 5 of the toothpick things for 25 notes. Overall, I liked these and felt they were excellent value for 25 notes. ... show more
