  • Great little, affordable stove fan.
While on the smaller side, this stove fan operates very well. It "turns on" quickly and the 6 blades turn very fast even at lower stove top temps like 250 F. I like that it comes with a magnetic thermometer so you can monitor the temperature of your stove's surface. While I can't speak to its effect on room temperature because it won't be "wood stove season" for another month or so, I can say that this fan works as advertised and, at this price point, is worth your consideration. ... show more

  • Works well
This really helps distribute hot air into the room when placed on my wood stove. You can't feel much if you put your hand in front of, but I confirmed that it is indeed pushing air with a piece of burning incense. The thermometer that they throw in is great. It's a good way to monitor the temperature of the stove. ... show more

  • Helps push the heat off the woodstove
This fan pushes quite a bit of heat off of the woodstove and has helped to circulate the air around our woodstove. It's small design makes it look very pleasing instead of using a box fan or something like that. One down fall is that there is no cover over the blades and when it gets hot it could be dangerous. ... show more

  • Works well but dont expect electric fan performance
It works as advertised. It helps to circulate the air above your stove but dont expect electric fan performance. As it gets warmer the fan spins faster and it helps moved the air. Its quiet and needs no connection. It uses a Peltier unit to create electricity to run the fan. Nice to have without running the blower on my stove. For the price its worth it. ... show more

  • Tough little fan
I am very pleased with this product. I have a wood burning stove and over the years I have tried several of these fans. This one I would say is the best constructed and the most powerful of the single fan 6 blade ones that I've tried. It's a little heavier than some of my other fans and I like that about it. It's weight makes it sturdy and that's what you want in a fan. I've tried the four blade fans and the six blade fans and this six blade throws more heat than my four blade. I was a bit skeptical because I figured it probably has the same motor as the four blade so making the blades heavier would only slow it down but it doesn't. They may have figured a way to make six blades while shaving weight off in other spots because this thing cranks. Its got a little metal hand carrier that retracts and I would say if you are moving this thing around frequently use that handle because this thing can get hot. That handle still gets hot but it's a lot cooler than the actual unit when in use. Overall an excellent product. These things work great if you have more than one. I have three lined up on my stove and it was a great investment and it saves me on electricity. If you are someone that uses a wood stove then you already love saving on gas costs so you might as well save on electricity costs from having to run a fan and get this product! ... show more

  • Amazing device!
I've often wondered how these work. I didn't realize they are driven by an electric motor! The electricity is generated in a thermocouple device that sits between the "hot side" - the pedestal base, and the "colder side" which is the fins on top where air gets pulled through, keeping that side cooler. The temperature differential is what generates the electricity to run the motor, which turns the fan. It spins much faster than I expected, and basically uses the heat being given off to MOVE the heat forward, into the room. I didn't know a thermocouple could generate that much power! It is totally silent, which definitely cannot be said about the built-in blowers on my stoves... Will work in a total power outage, etc. Also, the handy magnetic thermometer helps me keep my stove burning in that efficent zone, where the fan works best, and creosote is minimized. I really like this little fan. I may get another. ... show more

  • Great for circulating heat and humidity throughout your home
This little fan can push plenty of air through out your home and starts at low heat with no noise to aid in getting your house warmer and the humidity at a more comfortable level. (protip: if you can, position your fan behind your chimney flute at an angle so the air can be pushed passed your chimney flute rather than fan infront and chimney heat sucked through the fan blades for warmer air.) It also includes a neat magnetize thermometer to easily gauge what temp you should add more wood or if its too hot. I highly recommend this product. ... show more

  • Great addition to any fireplace
It is a very nice fan has a maximum on the heat but comes with a thermometer, so be aware of it but shouldn't be an issue for most people. Easy and low maintenance, and helps to circulate hot air into the room great product.
