I am not a skirt person in general, but I gave this skirt in Navy a try and trying out so many dress pants. I don't like stiff clothes that do not breathe. This skirt is elegant and breathable, with a great silhouette. I am a standard Medium. This Medium in Navy is a tad loose at the waist, but perfect with a belt. Ah, yes, it has belt loops. So many dress pants no longer have them. These do. It is a pencil skirt with a relaxed silhouette. The pockets lay flat and do not stick out. Not see through and thick enough not to show panty lines. They are long on my frame in a good way. It arrives wrinkled, but once you wash or steam it and hang dry, it looks fine. It will be good as a travel option. I went ahead and bought the black as well. The black fabric seems a tad softer and thinner than the Navy. I like both, but prefer the perfect shade of Navy. Looks great with a button down shirt or top and blazer. Or with a tee and sneakers. First Impressions I have loved a pencil skirt for as long as I can remember. They are timeless, structured, and endlessly feminine. This one in Navy is absolutely beautiful in color, deep and rich with no milky undertone. The drape is graceful, the tea length refined, and the overall silhouette reads polished and business ready. Fit and the “Bodycon” Question Here is where things shifted for me. Seeing the word bodycon in the title made me size up, anticipating something very skin skimming. In a structured wool, that level of contour can be stunning. In a polyamide rayon blend, I prefer a touch more ease. After receiving it, I realized this is not truly bodycon. It is tailored. Elegant. Structured. By sizing up, I created my own fit issue. That is on me. Had I ordered my true size, it would have likely been spot on. In my humble opinion, this is a refined business pencil skirt rather than a clingy bodycon piece. The use of that term in the title may unintentionally mislead shoppers who are cautious about overly fitted silhouettes. Design Details The high waist is flattering and elongating, with elastic at the back for comfort. The front slit is tasteful and not overly high, though I personally would prefer a side slit for a more classic look. Two functional pockets are a genuine win, adding practicality without disrupting the line of the skirt. The absence of lining in the Navy color is noticeable to me, as I am a lining loyalist when it comes to tailored skirts. That said, the fabric feels soft and lovely against the skin. --------------------- Fabric Breakdown 54% Polyamide Provides structure and durability, helping the skirt hold its tailored shape. 41% Rayon Adds softness and drape, giving the garment fluidity and comfort. 5% Elastane Offers stretch for ease of movement and day long wearability. The fabric has light structure with comfortable give. It reads professional while remaining breathable and smooth. --------------------- VIP Kitten Treatment Washed cold on gentle with Woolite, fluffed with no heat, and laid flat to dry. It does require steaming or a light ironing afterward to restore its crisp appearance. Once pressed, it looks polished and office ready. Final Purr This ZESICA pencil skirt is elegant, thoughtfully constructed, and beautifully colored. While it was not the right fit for me due to my sizing decision influenced by the word bodycon, it is a lovely tailored business skirt with practical details and graceful drape. The black skirt, with its elastic high waist, front slit, two functional pockets, and a below knee length is a versatile item. The skirt comes in the range of sizes S–XL The white skirt includes a lining while the other colors do not. Material: The cotton-feeling fabric is comfortable but not wrinkle-free and the small amount of stretch allows it to move with you throughout the day. The stretch of the fabric feels like elastane or something similar was added to the weave. Size/Measurements: The skirt fits mostly true to size, and the elastic waistband in the back adds flexibility in case you had a heavy dinner. The midi length is practical for work. The front slit provides ease of movement without being overly revealing. Style/Design: The high‑waisted pencil skirt is easy to dress up or down.
