It is different than most of thier albums, I've discovered that this album was created in a random sense of ways by means of the band taking advantage of downtime made unexpectedly available during the pandemic. I've listened to it through about a dozen times now and I've found about 6 of the tracks thus far to have gained an edge in appeal to my personal liking over the other tracks on the album, that said the whole album is great, and a quality listening experience as this band always puts forth in thier compiled releases. I've been listening to these guys since I was 11 years old and own all of thier primary albums released as the band (Rammstein) as a group as opposed to some of Till's solo records I have yet to collect......That said I'll give this album the full 5 stars as a piece of musical art and on the scale of available pleasure in listening to it. But it's not going to make my gym playlist as it's not what one might expect in regards to the usual adrenaline filled rapid paced synchronized action offered by Rammstein available on most albums .

This is the first Rammstein record I’ve purchased since Sehnsucht. I drifted away from them with the records in between, only occasionally listening to songs here and there. When I heard a new album was coming out, it seemed like the right time to dive back into Rammstein. Initially, it didn’t do much and I was slightly disappointed. However, I found myself streaming it again and again. After my umpteenth listen, I purchased the deluxe cd package - I love having the physical record in my hands! From beginning to end it’s a solid album. There’s not one song I skip over. Lots of raw emotion, crunchy guitar and bombastic drums! I hate to say it, but give it time. 😉

From song one you can tell Flake's keyboards are gonna showcase this album and it does and all for the better. Song no.2 which is the title track is such an elegant ballad that harkens to songs like, Seeman, Ohne Dich, and Fruhlin in Paris, very emotional and intimate. Song no.3 Schwarz has a great chorus and the piano melodie are phenomenal. Song no.4 Giftig has a great great crunchy riff and with great electronic keys to it, a great sweet banger. Song no. 5 ZickZack, this song is such a party song that'll sit comfortably with, Ich Will, Keine Lust and Du Hast, fantastic chorus too. Song no.6 OK this song continues the momentum of the groove started by, Giftig and the riffs are strong in this song, no filler. Song no.7 Meine Teigen slows things a bit, not too much just enough to perfectly balance this album, great chorus once again. Song no. 8 Angst, the heaviest and most politically intense song Rammstein has ever written and it might their best banger ever, ZERO filler on this song, heavy groovy, ominous, phenomenal vocal delivery by Till (can't wait to hear this live) favorite song on the record. Song no. 9 Dicke Titten is Rammstein's callout on our own shallow peeves on what want out of others, this song has fun riffs a great 1950's carny theme intro and the chorus is so much fun and goofy stands along with, Keine Lust, Buck Dich, Zwitter, Auslander, and Pussy. Song no. 10 Lugen, which is probably my second favorite song, the keyboard intro is great, Tills spoken words for this song is so great and the chorus is beautiful and there's a part where Till uses a vocal synthesizer and it works shockingly well, love this song. Song no.2 Adieu, I hope it's not actually goodbye, but if it is it landed on a VERY HIGH NOTE. This closer stands with the likes of Amore and Nebel, has a very Arabic melody to it and the chorus is good and it ends the album perfectly. Seen this band three times, seeing them in Philly this year and maybe in New York. I love this band, they're my favorite band.

Purchased one to open, play and enjoy. Received another from my son as a gift to keep sealed and add to my collection. Zeit is such a great, insightful piece of art then there are songs like Dicke Titten and Zick Zack that show their wit and also highlight how crazy a human can be just for vanity. This is just a handful of songs, the remainder are just as good, there simply isn't enough room here to mention all. Today it is so hard to find entire releases that in my opinion can be appreciated but this and again in my opinion their entire catalog from beginning to now are just so wonderful. Have yet to find a song in their catalog that I just don't care for. Please boys, keep the train rolling. Ps, loved the show in Chicago.

So I just gave this ‘new’ CD from Rammstein a listen (I realize I am a bit late to the party, but at least I made it)… and my first impression is ‘it sounds like them, and yet it doesn’t sound like them at the same time’. Rammstein has always been a bit difficult to define musically; they are constantly experimenting with different sounds, so I expected this much. But to me this material sounds a little bit more ‘toned down’ than any of their previous albums. According to my ears, about half the songs seem to be missing those hard, funky, strong guitar-and-bass riffs that Rammstein has become so well-known for. I know that Richard (Kruspe) has a side project (Emigrate) that he is also involved in; so maybe this time around he was just not as involved in the process of developing the music (which would explain, at least partially, this new change in sound). The guitars are there, yes (and there are a few tracks that remind me of the ‘old’ Rammstein)… but this time around, the sound is a noticeable departure from what fans may be more used to hearing. All of this said, it IS still them (at the end of the day, certainly). Till’s vocal work remains top notch (in some of the songs, like ‘Lügen‘ he continues to deliver exciting, innovative vocal tricks); and there are many new German words that I have never seen before. But in some of the songs, it almost feels like they are hesitating - for what reason, I can’t possibly guess. The songs have a more mellow feel to them - and if you listen to the album right before this one, you can easily hear that there is a definite difference. To me though, this is not a band where ‘mellow’ is ever a defining word! It will be interesting to see, whether this ‘new sound’ is something the band plans to keep around, or if they will return to their more familiar, ‘harder’ tracks. Are they deliberately ‘just mellowing out’, or is some of this ‘toning down’ a result of the (previous) COVID situation? Or are they just getting to a point where they can’t ‘rock out’ like they used to (due to factors like age)? Only time will tell… in the meantime I will spend some time listening to this most recent version of the greatest German band in the world!

I really enjoy listening to this CD. I love the songs Zick Zack, Zeit and Armee der Tristan. Despite over the years hearing people praising this band, I largely ignored them simply because they did not sing in English. Now I am making up for my understandable musical ignorance and discovering some great Rammstein music along the way.
