  • TWO Fatal Flaws: False Advertising, TERRIBLE customer service.... yet, a quality pen!
Color: Black Size: 24 Pack
I am a product designer and graphic designer, so software design tools and traditional design tools are my daily drivers. I was looking for a wider, bolder ink pen than the .7mm Pilots and .7mm Uniballs I use. These Z-grips were advertised at 1.0mm wide on the package and description, so I jumped on them. NOT so! Apparently, no one has ever measured the actual widths of the lines produced by various pens, so I did. I tested the Z-grip 1.0mm against my Pilot G2 .7mm black ink pens and Uniball Signo .7mm pens. While NONE of them ever actually wrote to the dimensions specified. the Z-grip was the thinnest of all coming out nowhere near 1.0mm wide. See photos comparing line widths next to a precision metal mm ruler. Now I realized that paper type, pen pressure, room temperature, relative humidity all play a factor in determining line width. I have tested these 3 pens on different bond papers, artist paper, Strathmore paper, pad paper etc. all under the same conditions, pen pressure, line length and have consistently found the Z-grip 1.0mm pen to be .5mm or less! I even measured the roller ball of the 1.00mm with a micrometer and again, not even close to 1.0mm. I pointed this out to Zebra Pens via their website contact email form TWICE and never received a response. I call the customer service number on the website and the phone rang and rang and rang....Never answered. I even sent another website email indicating I would post a negative review if no response received...so here we are. Aside from the ink width issue, the pens write smoothly, fairly consistently and are a good value. ... show more

  • Comparison ( I can’t believe someone compared these same 3 pens but in a different way)
Color: Black Size: 24 Pack
Received 3 packs of pens as a gift, giving me the opportunity to compare the Uniball, Pilot G2 Gel roller, and the Zebra “z grip”.You can see in the photo that the Zebra and the Uniball come out looking about the same, with the Pilot writing the darkest. The photo showing a “blank” page is how the pens show up through the paper - only the darker Pilot is slightly visible. ... show more

  • Writes well...in short bursts
Color: Black Size: 18 Pack
Part of my job is taking a lot of notes from a phone conversation or from a voicemail to give me the information needed to record an event. When I'm done with my notes, I draw a long line under the notes to separate events. When the event gets entered into the system, I draw a long line diagonally through the notes. The pens worked fine for the notes. They act like they're dying on long lines. It took me a few days to figure out they need to rest a bit after drawing a long line to work properly again. This has been the case with 3 pens so far. Otherwise, for the price, they work well. Update 27/October/2018: I may have been hasty. After the third pen finally died, I grabbed another pen (I at least got SOME use out of them). Suddenly, the 4th, 5th, and (as a test) 6th pen all work wonderfully. Maybe I got a few bad pens. Maybe some are good and I'll run into more bad ones. Maybe I just had a fluke package. Either way, I'm satisfied with my current trio. ... show more

  • I've found my brand!
Color: Black Size: 24 Pack
I bought these, along with a set of memo clipboards, to use for food delivery/waitressing. If I ever need more pens (and I surely will), I'll just buy a gigantic pack of these, no more shopping around. That's pretty much the highest praise I can give. First, the value. I'm sure you could find a pen with a smoother ink flow, more comfortable grip, whatever, but I doubt you could find it at this price point. I use these pens every day, so I didn't want anything too nice or expensive to lose/accidentally forget to get back from a customer. Plus, they ride around in my car, so I'll always lose a few under seats and in compartments. I wanted a pen that was nice, but not too nice to replace without guilt. And they really are nice pens. They write smoothly, even at a slight angle, and rarely smear or blot (smearing is the main reason I didn't buy Pilot G2s). The writing comes out dark, clear, and clean. I have noticed with my most-used pen that it rarely, after 15-20 minutes of non-stop writing, will seem to get clogged and write weakly (very little ink, kind of hard to read) for a few lines. A good scribble generally seems to clear up the problem. I particularly like the metal clip at the end. I find plastic ones often break quickly, and these seem far more sturdy. Overall, this is an excellent option for those looking for cheap-but-good daily use pens. They're enjoyable to use, sturdy, write well, and enough of a value to easily replace when lost/empty of ink. Happy writing! ... show more

  • Don’t steal my pens, please. Really? I saw you put it in your pocket.
Color: Black Size: 18 Pack
I own a small business. On a daily basis people need to write things on paper. Said people will often compliment us on our pens and ask what kind/where to purchase. I don’t hold that information as top secret so I tell them where they can purchase such nice pens as these...so they don’t steal mine. But they write well. Not a super heavy fluid/smooth pen but really good for a standard ball point. I love that they can write on glossy business cards/appointment cards since some of the other pens smear and smudge. I also love the retractable feature. I can’t stand the pen caps that go missing. Before you know it, your pens storage container has leaked ink puddling at its base and then you’ve got ink goop all over the place and it takes many minutes of paid staff time to figure out where the mess is coming from! Not with these pens. The retractable feature protects the roller ball from damage and keeps the mess down. ... show more

  • Writes smooth like a rollerball
Color: Black Size: 18 Pack
I was looking for a good ballpoint pen to use in my book review journal. I love rollerballs, but they tend to smear until the ink is totally dry. I need to write small to fit in my entire review on a page, but the medium point was a great price so I decided to give these a shot. Best ballpoint pens EVER. Other brands I've used in the past tend to get gloppy and I constantly have to wipe off the nib to prevent clumps. I usually have smears all over the page. Not here! These pens write so smoothly it's like using a rollerball. The ink is nice and dark and easily read. I didn't have any problem with skipping. I wrote an entire page and not once did I have to scribble to get the ink flowing again. Though they are medium point, I was still able to write tiny and legible. I'll be sticking with these pens! ... show more
