  • Nice economy retractable ballpoint pens
Size: 26 Count (Pack of 1) Style: Pen
Note: the following is specific to the regular blue barreled pens. I will touch on the Z-Grip Flight pens at the bottom. These are economical "good enough" retractable ballpoint pens. While I wouldn't want to use them to write my autobiography long hand, they are fine for general use. They are comfortable to hold, lightweight, and provide a smooth writing experience and solid line of ink on the paper. In our house, for some reason I don't understand, pens seem to just disappear, so buying in quantity means I can keep some in reserve. I would also think these would be great for businesses that need to provide a pen to their customers (like restaurants) where there is a good chance the pens will "walk away." Each pen has a little plastic cap over the ballpoint which helps prevent the ink from drying out while the pens are sitting waiting to be used initially - that's nice since it is a bulk package. The two included Z-Grip Flight pens are a notch up in quality feel. However, I don't feel the two pens are worth the $6.89 price difference (as of November 2020) between this 26 pen bundle and the 24-pack https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002VL5QUU?th=1 and that's why I deducted a star. If I were reviewing the 24-pack at $0.28 per pen, I would have rated them 5 stars for a good balance of function and feel at an economy price. ... show more

  • Just don't glide as well as InkJoy
Size: 26 Count (Pack of 1) Style: Pen
I have long said that InkJoy is my favorite pen. In every category, they just write smooth without any hassle. These Zebra pens are okay. They are not going to be ones that I get excited about, but they do a fine enough job. I don't like that all Zebra pens have a starting out point of a lot of ink that tapers off as you continue to write. It looks like I'm putting an extra dot every time I start something new. I also think that by having two "fancier" pens in with this set, they are just trying to charge more money. We all need cheap pens from time to time, especially in the classroom. Let's just stick with these being cheap pens in a multipack that we wouldn't mind a middle school kid running off with. ... show more

  • You really do get what you pay for
Size: 26 Count (Pack of 1) Style: Pen
At the current price of this set of pens, they are about 2 for a dollar. That is pretty cheap but then so are the pens so I guess it’s a matter of getting what you pay for. The two Zebra flight pens are really nice and write very smoothly. They feel good in my hands. The rest of the pens also write smooth but they don’t feel good. They are quite light weight and the area were the clip connects to the pen is actually sharp. It’s not that they don’t do everything a pen should, the ink clicks up and down just as it should and the clip can be clipped onto paper or a pocket. It’s just that they feel so cheap. I had to check out the seller to make sure that these were real Zebra pens because I didn’t know they made any of this quality. If you just want a bunch of pens for a giveaway or to put on clipboards for people to use....these may be just what you are looking for. If you want a pen that really feels nice to use, buy more of the Zebra flights. ... show more

  • Now I remember why I stopped using Zebra pens
Size: 26 Count (Pack of 1) Style: Pen
It's been a while since I bought Zebra brand pens, and now that I've tried these, I remember why that is. These write smoothly enough and they feel good in my hand, especially the Z Grip Flight pens. The problem is that with every new stroke of the pen, there's a small glob of ink that smears. So if my hand moves over the ink, I not only have smeared ink on my paper, I also have it on my hand. Jotting a quick note would be okay, but I would not use these for my planner at all. I don't have time to wait for those little globs of ink to dry before closing my planner or turning a page. The cost of these isn't bad at all for pens that perform decently, but I'll stick with the cheapos that don't leak if this is the best Zebra can do. ... show more

  • An okay mid-range disposable pen
Size: 26 Count (Pack of 1) Style: Pen
I don’t dislike these pens, but I don’t especially like them either. The grip is comfortable, and the pens are solidly built yet lightweight. They write smoothly and are a definite step up from Bic Crystal and other such inexpensive pens, but they don’t offer the tactile delights of a pen gliding effortlessly across the paper like a Pilot V5 or G2 or a Uni-ball Vision Elite. These might be a good choice for situations where you are likely to be lending out pens and risking not getting them back since they aren’t terribly expensive. I guess I’d classify these as fine pens for jotting down a grocery list, but not the ones I’d want to take to school for a long day of notetaking. ... show more

  • So far so good
Size: 26 Count (Pack of 1) Style: Pen
These write surprisingly smoothly for inexpensive pens. Far better than any of the half dozen other types I have here in my office. The two standalone pens are the most comfortable for me as they have a different grip, but the rest with the other grip are fine to use, just not as nice as these two. No issues with retraction, so many cheap brands seem to want to stick partway out when you try to retract them and you have to press them on something - no such issues with any of these. No extra ink so far, no blobs or anything as I write. Smooth and consistent results. ... show more

  • Good deal on decent ballpoint pens
Size: 26 Count (Pack of 1) Style: Pen
I don't use ballpoint pens that often anymore, preferring rollerball and gel pens, but ballpoints can be inexpensive and work well for general use. That's what these Zebra Z-Grip pens are. They write pretty smoothly and the lines are mostly consistent. They do tend to smear if not given enough time to dry. Again, these aren't premium pens, but are very good ballpoint pens for the money. These would probably be good to have out for patrons at a small business, like restaurants or retail shops. If you're looking for a better writing experience from Zebra, the G-301 gel pen is very good. ... show more
