Iām in a state with 4 seasons but changeable weather so like having options. I bought this coat because itās light weight and packable. Iāve kept it- and itās my favorite coat- because itās comfortable, warm when itās really cold out, and still looks good. Highly recommend

This coat is phenomenal. I have sweaters that are heavier! The coat keeps you perfectly comfortable but never overheated. Two generous front pockets are easily accessed.with an angled opening and zippered closure complete with a nice pull tab. If youāve ever had something come out of a pocket unintentionally when you pull out a glove, youāll appreciate these. A new feature that really excites me is the cell phone pocket just inside the zipper at chest height. Again, the pocket is over sized and i feel my expensive smartphone is safe from being dropped. My cell phone is easily accessed, protected from the elements, and should feel very specialāhaving its very own pocket! It can share the space with keys or other critical things. I wore it in December and February in Cincinnati with temperatures ranging from 0 to the upper 40s (F). I would change up what I wore underneath, but never the coat. Its perfection in my opinion. Water repels nicely and dries quickly. Its not a raincoat, folks....just gets you through the reality of winter. A well thought out hood is part of the coatās design, not an add-on. If keeps the wind off your neck even if not in use. Theres an adjustable draw-string at the waist with pulls on each side. Speaking of pulls....lets talk about the front zipper. The main zipper works great āno issues ( other than positioning it in just the right spot to start the zip). And once zipped, you can unzip from either end. Want to get something from your pants pocket? You could unzip from the bottom to your waist!! The sleeves are a great length and the cuffs are sown into the sleeve to keep out drafts. Each cuff is extra long with a thumb hole. Makes me feel very cool, too!! (LOL) So, iāVe made my decision! My favorite feature is its feather light weight, and ease of movement by the wearer. My kids are grown snd Iām now a grandmother. The difficulty of reaching around from the drivers sest to get a dropped toy, hand a napkin, or just shoe them I mean what I say...,.it seared into my mind the absolute REQUIREMENT for the coat to have flexibility to move in all directions! So, i highly recommend this Columbia Womenās Mighty Lite coat. Its āhands downā the BEST winter coat Iāve ever had. If you've found my review helpful, please like my review below!

I loved this coat! Had to return it. My friend has the exact same one and we deal with rough winters here in Chicago,a nice winter day to us is about 30 degrees and we get as low as negative 0ās. So because of how much she love hers I knew I could purchase one too! I wear an xl in any coat Iāve ever bought of all different brands since Iāve gained weight and Iāve never had a problem. This one was too tight! In order to zip it up I had to pull it over my butt then zip it which made it really tight so I returned it. I feel that a 2x will be too big so I havenāt repurchased yet. Still debating! Other than that I loved everything about it. Itās amazing to me that it is such a light feeling coat,but has so much to it that it keeps you warm in rough winters. I would recommend just pay close attention to the sizing details. I should also mention that I am not at all top heavy,but it was still too tight.

Today was the first day that I was able to wear my jacket. I am a teacher, and every morning, for 50 minutes, I have to stand outside directing traffic and students. I live in southern Georgia, where it is either miserably hot, or miserably cold. I have had to stand on duty in 20-30 degree weather many, many times. For several years I have worn the same heavy, trench-style coat. It is very heavy, but not necessarily warm. So, I felt it was time to get something new/better. Today it was only 61-63 degrees during my traffic duty, but it was also very windy and drizzly. Basically, a miserable morning to be out guiding traffic! Despite the miserable morning, I stayed warm and dry, and I did not even have an umbrella. This jacket is SO very lightweight!! It is no heavier than a thin windbreaker. I am 5'2", and this jacket comes down to just above/at my knees, which is PERFECT for standing on duty in inclement weather. It was just what I was looking for. It has a tailored cut--which comes in at the waist--giving the jacket a feminine style, not bulky. The outer side pockets are zippered, so they can be zipped when not in use and give a more streamlined appearance. There is also a really cool inner pocket on the left breast close to the main zipper. It came in handy today when I had to tuck some money away. I LOVE the cool thumb-hole inner sleeve. Basically, with or without gloves on, it prevents a draft from traveling up the sleeve of the jacket. This insert can easily be tucked inside the jacket when you don't want to use it. The hood didn't stay on my head like I wanted (it does not cinch with a drawstring), but today was a very windy day, so I do not consider that a negative. The jacket zips up very high to above my chin, which is going to be awesome as the temperature drops later in the year. Details: I bought a size XL in black. I followed the size chart. However, on two of the measurements I fell on the L size, but on one measurement I fell on the XL size. I always buy size M in t-shirts and blouses, but my hips are my largest measurement. So, I erred on the side of caution and bought the XL. It is not too big at all. It fits very well, but I know I will still have room to layer when the time comes. Despite being lightweight and thin, this is a warm jacket, so I am hoping not to have to layer very much anyway. I got several compliments today on my coat. Even though it seems to be a plain black jacket, something about it has flair and is very stylish. Bottom line: This is a great purchase, and for the first time ever, I am looking forward to chilly weather (that's saying a lot since I was born and raised in Florida!!). This jacket is $50 cheaper than buying it from the Columbia website. Great value, great jacket.
