While you need to install an app on your phone to set up the watch for the first time, it doesn’t appear to require a connection to use after that. The app provides numerous home screen watch faces. The appearance of the watch is classy and not ostentatious. Battery life is indeed long, lasting for numerous days. It saves battery by turning off the watch display after a few seconds of inactivity. When worn, it can track length of sleep, and seems to so with some accuracy. It also counts steps, and provides haptic feedback when progress toward daily goals are met. Navigation on the phone is a little cumbersome - it only scrolls in one direction no matter which direction you gesture on the watch face - pass what you’re looking for, and you have to scroll through all options to get back. Accuracy of biometric readings provides ballpark indication but is not consistently reliable or accurate - without vibration, readings are generally close to expected, but during exercise, readings can be off substantially or delayed. It can really be hit or miss. Overall, good value and functional device. The main ways it could be improved would be changing the one way navigation to two way navigation, not requiring an initial sync with a smart phone to set up, and improving accuracy of the biometric data. I like being able to check my heart rate, sleep, and step count throughout the day. The battery lasts several days, so I don’t have to charge it often. It’s also lightweight and comfortable enough to wear all day. For the price, I think it offers a lot of useful features. I've been very impressed with the Zeacool Fitness Tracker. It tracks my daily steps, calories, heart rate, sleep, and other activities reliably, and the battery life has been great. What really stands out is the blood oxygen monitoring. I compared the readings from the watch with my HealthSmart fingertip pulse oximeter several times, and the results were consistently very close, which gave me confidence in the accuracy of the tracker. For a fitness watch in this price range, that's impressive. The watch is lightweight, comfortable to wear all day and night. I also like being able to quickly check my health metrics without carrying additional devices. I bought this specifically for swimming and there's no such catagory. Not even close. One of the few watches that listed the water resistance (5ATM) and no catagory for water sports let alone swimming, I haven't yet figured out the timer. the charger is so short it won't even reach a chair or table and it's a usb so can't charge on my phone or my laptop. The manual is a tiny, two pager -one of which is English, I kept having to re-register it and put in a password, none of which took and I gave up. It paired easily with my phone and i like the aesthetics but spinning was included but not swimming. Yet it had steps, walking, hiking which could be overlapped. There is no search bar and no way to ask the manufacturer because all these chinese watches seem to be private /custom sold (white label) and the manufacturer is the seller usually a chinese name and no contact info. I am very disappointed I did careful, tireless research and i don't want a big ugly apple watch clone - i only want sleep monitering, the time and someway to calculate laps. I'd have to buy a garmin which is overkill. i have small wrists. Also, the just is out on what the measurements are for swimming resistance - 30 feet is splashing and hand washing usually but no submerging. Others say differently. I think it has more to do with the force of the water as opposed to depth. It's going back and i'm tired of looking. The chronochrome watches are expensive and/or confusing and the plastic ones aren't responsive to touch. I don't care to measure speed - just time. Looks like I'll have to get a timex that's water resistant with a rugged look and not much else to offer. Unless I go over $600 which is where aesthetics (which I'm not even that picky about) meets utility. ... show more
