I'm using these for shelf storage of all sorts of miscellaneous smallish items. They cost a bit more than brown cardboard, but they are sturdy and have a far superior lid closure system, especially when one is periodically opening a box to retrieve an item and then re-sealing it. Coupled with some adhesive clear plastic pockets that accept a 3"x5" index card for labeling of contents, these work well and stack nicely on our utility room shelves.

These are nice, and make an attractive gift box for my pottery. They are sturdy, but I would not use these to ship fragile items on their own—they would work as an inner box when double box shipping. They’re pretty intuitive to fold once you’ve tried it once or twice.
