I recently splurged on the ZAGG Glass Elite Privacy 360 Screen Protector for my iPhone 16 Pro Max, shelling out $55, and boy was that a mistake. I can’t recommend this product to anyone. It’s a classic case of style over substance, failing to live up to its grand promises. ZAGG touts this protector as boasting “ultra-strong aluminosilicate glass with HD clarity,” but the reality is shockingly different. The most glaring issue? The moiré effect. Instead of achieving stunning clarity, this protector turns my beautiful display into a grainy mess that distorts text and images. I found myself cranking the brightness to the max just to combat the blurriness, but it only made reading and watching videos a frustrating chore. It’s a devastating blow to the stunning quality of the iPhone 16 Pro Max screen. Then there’s the halo effect. ZAGG claims “maximum coverage,” yet the edges of the screen remain exposed, creating an unsightly ring of light that dances around the borders. It’s a glaring reminder of the protector’s incomplete design, making my phone appear cheap and haphazard. Sure, it doesn’t affect the device’s protection, but it’s an irritating distraction that simply shouldn’t be present in a premium product. To top it all off, this protector cracked within just a few days of normal use, which raises eyebrows given ZAGG’s bold claim that it’s “5X stronger than traditional glass.” I didn’t mishandle or drop my phone; I treated it with care, making the sudden crack even more disappointing. By then, I was already itching to find a replacement due to the lack of clarity and frustrating design flaws, so the crack was just the excuse I needed. On a positive note, the privacy feature genuinely works wonders, effectively blocking visibility from various angles. But that single redeeming quality pales compared to the significant drawbacks of poor screen clarity, subpar coverage, and questionable durability. With a price tag of $55, this screen protector is a monumental letdown. The moiré effect renders it nearly unusable, the halo effect detracts from its appearance, and the cracking raises serious doubts about its sturdiness. I’ve purchased Zagg Privacy Screen twice. The privacy aspect is outstanding, especially in work or travel situations. I don’t think anyone can see my live screen from any angle except straight on. The protection aspect is great as I drop my phone constantly. The first pic gives you an idea what this protection screen can endure. 2nd pic shows package of the exact product I purchased. The last oic shows how great the replacement screen looks but what it doesn’t show is how easily and precisely it goes on. it comes with a great guide to place the screen and if you follow directions exactly, no bubbles and no dust underneath. Like others have said the protector makes the screen a bit too dark, but I got used to it. More importantly the screen has a grid in it that gives everything you watch a screen door effect. Almost like the phone has a very low resolution. Everything has jagged edges because of it. Worst of all the screen cracked the first day I installed it. It’s gotten worse and worse so I’m just waiting for it to fail completely before replacing it with something else. Not worth 60 dollars. I will say the privacy function works well. 1 star — Cracked in a month and cut my finger I bought this ZAGG Glass Elite Privacy 360 screen protector on March 30, 2026 for $63.80 and registered it on ZAGG's website the same day. Just over a month later, with no drops or rough handling, it cracked and chipped at the edge — and a shard cut my finger. That's the part buyers should know about: when this glass fails, it can fail in a way that draws blood. To make it worse, ZAGG's 'lifetime warranty' isn't really free. To get a replacement I had to pay $10 in shipping out of pocket, on top of the $63.80 I already spent. I don't abuse my phone. For a premium-priced screen protector marketed as 'ultra-strong' and '5x stronger,' this is unacceptable — and the sharp-edge failure makes it genuinely unsafe.
