I have to bring a laptop to and from work and this is the perfect size for the one that i have. It's not too stiff but also not flopping around when I set it down. I love that it's not super bulky like some other purses that are this size. The wallet that comes with is for sure more like a pocket book. It's pretty big so using it in other bags isn't always an option ( i like to switch to a smaller bag when I only need my wallet with me.) I will say that the seal along the edges is weak, I have has some fraying on the stitching and along the edges.
