I now have purchased this itm, and repurchased the identical paddle for my second board. My boards are Isle brand, and their paddles suck! The clips fail quickly. I bought this as a replacement for my first broken paddle. It works perfectly. When my second Isle paddle broke, I bought a second one of these. I have read the negative reviews. I do not get how you didn't test your paddle to sink or float before going out. The standard for purchasing new gear is to try it prior to the day of the trip. I now own two of these and may even buy a third just to have the spare options for when we travel and rent boards. GREAT item! ... show more

I just got it and the paddles were not locking into place so I thought it was broken. I then saw on the directions to pop up the lock and turn it to tighten. Now paddles are locked into place. So just remember this part or your paddles might pop out.

The second use the paddle snapped at one of the adjustable spots. The adjustable partsale the paddle faulty in those spots. Otherwise a great paddle I just think the adjustable areas should have a snap or push button adjustment.

So, I was hesitant to purchase this paddle based on some of the reviews... Especially about the paddle not floating. I just received it today and a pretty brilliant idea (IMHO) popped in my head. I use Dollar Store pool noodles to keep my tall knee-high boots standing upright. I sacrificed a boot (who is now falling over and looking very sad) and low and behold, the noodle fits perfectly around the two paddle pieces! For the piece that has the bracket, I just mad a small cut down the middle since it won't slide over the bracket. I grabbed one of my silicone ties (perfect for attaching all sorts of stuff to your SUP, BTW) to secure it in place. I haven't used the paddle yet, but I'm taking it on a camping trip this weekend and will update how it goes. As far as weight goes, for the standup configuration, it's the same as the paddle that came with my Serene Life inflatable board - about 2.2 lbs. Saw some reviews saying it was heavy, but based on what I've been using, it's the same . I will say that I'm not super impressed with the quality out of the box. It does seem a little cheaply made. That being said, I'm a beginner paddleboarder with an inflatable board, and I'm not planning on entering any competitions soon (just trying to keep up with my boyfriend). I was trying to find something inexpensive with decent reviews, and it seemed to fit the bill. Is my hack pretty? Nope. Will people look at me funny? Probably. Was it a super cheap fix to keep my paddle off the bottom of the lake? HECK YES!🙌 ... show more

I caught it on sale, probably wouldn’t pay full price for it. It is sturdier than the paddle that came with my SUP, a bit heavier, but not enough to really matter. It also can be used as a kayak paddle, this made it a little more appealing since we kayak as well and it can double as a spare for that as well. The flip locks hold well and it so far has no play at the joints. I have only used it half a dozen times so far, but it was 4+ hours on the water each trip. Many have rated it low because the locking mechanism was too soft after clamping it down allowing the handle or ore to slide apart. Will it’s because you need to rotate and tighten the lever first about 3 full rotations, then when you buckle it down it will secure the pole from sliding! Great product ... show more

Wow, I've spent my life on the water and rarely felt as scared as I did with this paddle. I was pleased because it held up well for 3 uses as a combo kayak/SUP paddle...and then it didn't. Last weekend while casually paddling on the lake, one side of the paddle just up and left. It fell straight off the pole while I was SUPping, leaving me with only a pole to paddle with. I couldn't even turn around to get back to it fast enough to grab the paddle, which promptly sank, leaving me stranded several hundred yards offshore. I lept into the water as I watched it sink. Floating paddle? Yeah sure. Once I had spent the rest of my day hand paddling back to shore I realized not only had the paddle fallen off, but the entire system failed, so it had nothing to do with the lock mechanism for the paddle but rather the sleeve that fell off the shaft. It was an entire, catastrophic product failure. I will NEVER buy this crap again. Thank my lucky stars to have survived this, and I'm a great swimmer. This company should be investigated and kicked off Amazon. Somebody will eventually die from this. DO NOT send your kids (or poor swimmers) out with this POC. ... show more

you can return this but you have to lose $15.00 for shipping . for me, it was very inconvenient o return it to avoid another shipping fee. i could only return at a amazon hub instead of any UPS site, which one is right down the street from me. For me, the paddles kept veering to the left then i had to paddle on the right side twice as long to get straightened out. and i couldnt get it to lock in place so it kept sliding down. i couldnt paddle with ease. ... show more
