It is a durable paddle. I use it for a sup school at the Ocean the whole year. It's a little heavy and it doesn't float more than a minute but is very resistant, look nice and kids love it. I used it for kids around 7, 8, 9 or 10 years old. I am waiting for this company to make some carbon paddles for kids of that age or even for the little ones from 3 to 6. For older I have my racing ones. I have this paddles for more than 2 years already of very hard use but taking care of them. If you wash the paddles after use, adjust size with care and keep the paddle on the water... you are going to be happy.

Strong enough for a 14 year old to play with friends all season. Great deal I'll hope it lasts for several seasons which it should. Adjusting height for kneeling or standing is a plus.

My son and I have been stand up paddle boarding since November of last year, and the last two times, he had taken up the courage to stand up and actually start paddling with a kids kayak paddle I had laying around. I was fortunate to see this youth paddle available. It is just shy of 1" too tall for his height, but that shouldn't be a problem for too long since kids grow up fast. He used it last weekend and well -- he initially had lost some balance due to the paddle being larger than what he used before, but over time, he got the hang of it and is now able to more efficiently propel us forward -- sort of. He'll get the coordination down eventually. Paddle is made up of 3 parts and floats. If yours does not float, you may want to attach a swim noodle by near the blade to keep it floating longer before it sinks. Blade is curved a bit more than what I am used to seeing with recreational iSUPs, giving it a bit more of a push than normal. Fine with me!

This paddle is Perfect for kidos - it is light weight & floats. My daughters are 11 & 9 years old. My 9yo is 54" tall and my adjustable paddle at its lowest setting is too long for her to use properly. We are trying to teach them how to paddle correctly & efficiently so having the paddle the correct length is really important. This one is 3 piece so it packs down small to fit into our iSUP bags and when assembled is lightweight and adjusts down to the right height for my daughter. I love that it really floats so when she drops it she doesn't have to go diving for it - makes it a little less stressful for her & me. The blade is sturdy plastic with a good form for efficient cutting thru the water - she gets good stroke out of it and doesn't get arm fatigue. I like that the blade is plastic so when she bangs it on rocks it wont get all chipped up or damaged.
