I like this cleanser from Youth to the People a lot. I had previously tried their Kale cleanser and really disliked it, as it dried my face out terribly. This one does not! It is still not quite as moisturizing as my go-to boring drugstore level hydrating cleanser, but it feels like it gets my skin very clean and leaves it soft and calm. My face is prone to redness when irritated, and this did not cause any irritation or redness after use. I think I will use this when I double cleanse with an oil base cleanser first, as it cuts through oiliness very well but doesn't strip my skin. The packaging is lovely, although heavy. I do like the reduced plastic, as the bottle itself is glass. It looks great sitting on the counter, and is a good enough size that it will last quite a while and makes it feel like a decent value.

This cleanser is very nice. Even though it's a milky cleanser, it foams a little, rinses well and doesn't leave a film or greasy feel on my skin. My skin feels clean, not stripped. It has very little scent, which is nice. I'm very pale and my skin has a tendency to get red and irritated, especially in the winter. My skin is sensitive and some natural ingredients cause terrible reactions. I experienced zero reaction and redness other than what's normal for me. It's packaged in a glass bottle with a pump that work well. The instructions call for two pumps of cleanser, but I rarely wear makeup so a single pump worked for me. Years ago I had a cleanser I loved and it was discontinued. I haven't been able to find one I like since. I like the quality of the ingredients and I think this may finally be the one! It's pricey at $39.00, but it's 8 ounces and cost less than the previous cleanser I loved. I received the Youth To The People Supershroom Facial Cleanser and I think it’s best as a morning cleanser for my normal to oily skin. I wear water resistant sunscreen almost every day, so I always double cleanse with oil or balm and follow up with second cleanser, my preference is a foaming but I have found others that also work well (MAKE P:REM PDRN Pore Clay Cleansing Milk, JEU'DEMEURE DermiShuttle DD Cleanser, Cerave foaming, Alpha-H Triple Action Cleanser with Thyme). This Youth to the People cleanser works but it’s not a favorite for night time because it is very low foam and I don’t get the same clean feeling, almost like it is too mild. It is definitely ideal for dry and very sensitive, and for me it works well in the mornings when I only need to remove my skin care for the night before. I enjoy the earthy scent and the packaging is nice, and it comes in a large bottle. I have used their Superfood Kale cleanser in the past, and that one is more suited to my skin type and preferences and it’s the same price so I would repurchase that one since it suits me better.

I’m a huge fan of Youth to the People skincare products and I highly recommend the Supershroom Facial Cleanser for people who want a gentle cleanser for sensitive skin. One to two pumps are all that’s needed. Youth to the People doesn’t use sulfates - they focus on vegan and cruelty-free ingredients - so you don’t get a lot of lather but the cleanser is effective at removing dirt and makeup. This is meant for dry skin, not oily, and the cleanser left my skin noticeably softer. They have a different cleanser for skin brightening but my skin also looked more even in tone and my rosacea was tamed. The fresh scent is very faint and mild and shouldn’t trigger any scent sensitivities. Highly recommended!

Full disclosure, I have the Youth to the People Supershroom face lotion, and have been using it for about two months. Because of that, and loving the lotion, I was excited to try the cleanser. I have aging skin (late 30s), and have hormonal acne by my chin during parts of my cycle. I also can get dryer spots on my cheeks during the winter. At times my skin can get red or tight depending on the cleanser. For me, and for my skin type, this cleanser has been amazing. I've been using it two weeks now (in conjunction with t he lotion) and my skin really feels calm. It is not red, tight, or itchy after washing. I haven't had issues with acne since using it I also haven't had issues with dryness. Honestly, it isn't my favorite smell, (but neither is the lotion). I am happy to forgo incredible smelling face wash, in favor of something that works the best for my skin. Overall, I love it for my skin. I would definitely re-order once this is gone.
