My wife was concerned about warmth as she loved the heaviness of the old comforter. This comforter is light weight, but it doesn't detract from its warmth. shell feels stiff and flat, blanket is surprisingly thin (I ordered the all season medium fill). It is so thin that it provides no warmth at all, makes me wonder if they accidentally shipped me a light fill summer blanket. it is the middle of the summer and i am getting cold during the night and having to double up the duvet... will probably have to buy an additional blanket come winter. ... show more

This is the best comforter I have ever owned. It's a little heavy, which I love. It's not particularly breathable, but it's very warm, which is what I needed now that I'm learning to live in a place where it truly gets cold. The filling is perfectly evenly spread inside, making the overall effect of a very flat and smooth comforter. It's hard to explain, but unlike synthetic or down filled comforters, the padding inside doesn't bunch up or have any variance of fullness anywhere. It doesn't move around inside at all and stays perfectly even all over. I have it in a duvet, and it's just a wonderful experience sleeping under this every night.
