I really like this book shelf/nook. I picked it for the price and look. The wood is the same color as in the picture so I was happy about that. I know sometimes colors can be off. It took about a couple of hours to assemble because some parts of the instructions didn't seem 100% clear. I'd say it's decently sturdy. The nook area is alittle smaller than I hoped. It is very sturdy and great for my kids. The instructions were TERRIBLE! The letters on the boards did not match the letters in the book and same with the screws/dowels. We did figure it out and get it put together, but would've been much faster if the instructions matched how to put it together. Also, the pieces were not cut properly to fix the holes for the screws and slots for the walls to slide in. ... show more

Didn’t like the instructions but we figured it out. The instructions were different it still has step one thru step 7 but the picture wasn’t the greatest. But I feel like this is safe for our 4 year old he can sit and read or pretend to read and the shelf won’t fall on him. That was main concern I didn’t want anything to fall on him. I feel like this would last him years. The sturdiness is good too definitely worth the money. If I had to I would buy it again. I really don’t like how there’s screws on the bottom so if you need to drag it across the floor I feel like it would scratch the floor. Wish they had some kind of covering for the tips of the screws. But other than that I love it. Our son loves it too. It’s perfect for his books. ... show more

    • It's pretty expensive for a piece of garbage

If it was only that it was a poorly made piece of garbage, that wouldn't have been so bad. The part that makes me upset is how much it cost me to return it. I got all of the pieces out of the box and began to assemble it. Immediately, one of the plastic pieces that you insert a screw into broke. I thought I could make due and kept going. The holes don't line up, so the pieces don't go together well...or at all. It was at this point I thought it's not worth it. I'll just go buy wood and make something similar. So we boxed it back up to return. I'm not upset at this point. No harm, no foul. Sometimes you buy stuff that isn't good. So you return it. We had purchased two of them, so we were thinking we'd get over $200 back to go toward the materials for what I was going to build. We print the return label and it says we're responsible for the return shipping cost. That's not good because the boxes are heavy. When we got them to the place to ship it back, we are informed that it is going to cost us $67 per box to return them. So, we spent around $200 and then we have to spend about $135 to return them because they are garbage--very heavy garbage, but still garbage. At this point, we're only going to get $80 back from the return. I suppose I could have just taken it straight to the dump (to return it to where it belongs) and come out about the same. Save yourself the trouble. It isn't a good product and it will cost you a bunch to send their garbage back to them. My advise is to look elsewhere or look for plans for a DIY project. My 15 month old daughter loves this book nook! She pulls out books and sits on the floor and once in awhile climbs up and sits on the nook chair area and flips through her picture books pretending to read. I love seeing her excited about books! Its her own special place! The wood pieces seem sturdy and it was easy to build. The cushion seems to do the job, not cheap but not plush either. Im glad we bought it! ... show more

Cute cubby space with reading nook. Assembly was a bit frustrating because not everything lined up and we needed to use a little careful force in some spots. This might get aggrevating for some. Plus the white coating chipped in some placesnwhere crews were inserted. But, not super visible. I do like that the cushions came with velcro to prevent them from slipping around. Overall it is cute, unique, and gives off a cozy vibe for our new nursery. Can't wait to fill it with toys and books. ... show more
