I can't wait to put this DIY card making set to good use with a group of kids at a Fathers Day craft workshop I plan on hosting soon. This set consists of 24 pre-creased Kraft brown cardstock - - these are the blank cards, as well as 24 envelopes, and then a little variety of embellishments including stickers and cardstock shapes that can give the cards some dimension and personality. I really appreciate that this set comes with "sticky glue dots" instead of messy glue sticks or liquid glues that always make these activities go sideways (whether by getting the wrong things stuck together or by adding a bunch of drying time and mess). The glue dots are easy to divide up and peel from their sheets. The embellishments allow for some creativity as the kit is not made to make 24 identical cards.... Instead the kids can pick and choose how to personalize their own card. I plan to also provide some markers and crayons so the kiddos can further personalize their cards. I made an "example" to test out the materials and show the kids some easy methods. I happened to use the white and black sticker applique that makes a sort of "bouquet" arrangement of something, as I figured that sticker would be one of the more difficult stickers to peel and apply, which it was - - the fine lines had to be peeled in one direction on the left, and the others from the right. The other stickers are not as intricate, instead more basic shapes like hearts. Lots of the stickers and cutouts feature variations like patterns, different shades of blue, variations in size, etc. This should be an easy activity to lead, and the cards will come out cute. I think the kiddos will enjoy making a personalized keepsake for the dads in their lives. ... show more
