I got this alarm for my 2018 Grom. It is EXTREMELY loud. It will definitely draw attention and being close with the alarm going off honestly hurt my ears. Which I think is good sign that it will deter anyone who may attempt to take it. Others mention it is very sensitive but I have found that it only goes off when messing with the lock itself. I drove my vehicle close to my bike to test it, as well as walking past it and touching other parts of the bike(seat, handle bars, gas tank, squeezing break). Both times the alarm did not go off. If you don't enter your key correctly, then the alarm will go off which was annoying at first but If you master the technique to enter your key fast enough then it's great. As far as durability goes no one has attempted to slice it off but it is pretty heavy and seems like it will be able to hold up. I would recommend as additional layer of protection for you bike/motorcycle! ... show more

I've owned and used this lock for an entire riding season. Its batteries have lasted that long, and have shown no indication of running out. It's small but heavy, and my god is it sensitive. Maybe that's the only thing I dislike about it is how oversensitive it can be- if I know it'll rain, I'll make sure to put it on the back wheel instead of the front wheel, because if the rain hits it, it will go off. It's been very sturdy, and I find I don't use the cable it comes with. It's so sensitive that if you even start opening up the tail bag casually instead of carefully, it'll beep at you. I live in an area where there are people around all the time, so I use it as more of a 'pay attention to me, I'm getting stolen!!' alarm than an actual theft deterrent. When I sleep, I leave my window cracked open. If anyone touches the bike, even the neighbor's cat, it'll chirp and I'll know to listen to see if it goes into full scream-mode. The alarm itself is pretty loud and piercing. It does hurt my ears up close, and it's *very* noticeable even several hundred feet away. (Definitely wakes me up at night when it rains and I forget to move it to the sheltered brake rotor on the back wheel!) Pros: -small, easy to store -very durable -loud -battery lasts long -water and weather resistant/proof -direction of unlocking twist (clockwise) means that if you mount it right, it's easier to unlock without going off Cons: -Can be oversensitive -Goes off in the rain -lock mechanism is beginning to get a bit stiff after one year of weather-induced neglect Would I buy it again? I purchased this for my Kawasaki Z125 because sometimes I have to leave my bike out in a rough area. This will give me a decent amount of peace of mind and is well worth the price from what I can ascertain so far. The lock seems solid and the alarm is super loud, it actually hurts the ears. I have yet to use it in a real world situation but I placed it on the Kawasaki and it fits well. I highly recommend this lock for anyone who has to park in rough areas. ... show more

There are literally dozens of similar locks on Amazon and other sites and you will find something negative about all of them, but for the money, this lock is solid and does the job. I think that when looking for a lock to secure your motorcycle, it really depends on where you are parking it and how at risk you are of it being stolen. I park my motorcycle in front of our house and in front of one of our cars, so getting it out is a chore in itself. For my situation, this lock suits my needs and the bright yellow color is a deterrent in itself. The alarm is loud enough to draw attention and installation/removal is simple. The only negative thing I have to say is that I don't like how the alarm chirps as soon as the key touches it. And if you take too long to unlock it, like when it's dark, the alarm WILL go off, which is annoying. Otherwise, I like it! ... show more

Read some of the reviews saying the alarm is very sensitive which is why i bought it. Put it on and it wont sound the alarm unless it hits something. I can aggressively sit on the bike, thrash the handle bars, roll it back and forth....nothing. Until it hits the fork from rolling all the way around it makes no sound. I thought maybe the batteries were dying so i used the extras it came with and still nothing. I'll try new new batteries but ive accepted i got the chinesium i paid for. Oh well, certainly not the worst $15 ive spent. It still works as a lock. ... show more
