This is actually a box of cute, fun, and easy little paint projects that older siblings can enjoy doing with younger siblings, or whichever adults or older kids want to enjoy with or without little ones. My 20 yr old son had a great time doing these up with his four year old sister, and it was generally mess-free, if you're following the general guidelines of watching the little ones and trying not throwing paint all over the place. And if you or they make a mess- definitely washable. As thin as the objects are, the magnets are strong (we can always use some sturdy, strong magnets- am I right?), and as a whole, they are well assembled so that the painted objects aren't going to fall off or get knocked off the magnet. The magnet is embedded into the back, so the back is a flat surface. I also notice lately that my four yr old loves assembling them on the refrigerator to make pictures or stories. I highly recommend these for your child on a rainy day, or a weekend busy activity. I bought this set as an Easter basket stuff or for my five year old neighbor girl, and my seven-year-old son. They painted a few of the magnets together, and did a great job. This is a great gift in great fine motor skills activity. There are a large variety of different magnets in each box that you can paint with the magnet attached to the wooden shape. I guess my only complaint would be it’s challenging to open up each color, but for safety reasons and messy kids maybe that could be a good thing? ... show more
