Basically what I signed up for at $80. It works. It's functional. It has 3 wheels instead of 2. (My #1 thing I thought was cool about this one.) I purchased with the idea I might be replacing it later. I wanted to get my hands on the 3rd wheel. I read a comment about not being able to level the machine before I purchased. Upon receipt, this thing does require some work. It's mostly an issue of external construction. It's not the best in the world. Solid item but some parts are crooked. On my machine this is the speed knob and the feet on the bottom. The speed knob sits at an angle. This does not affect the operation but it does not line up flush with the side of the machine. The panel that seals the bottom is haphazardly drilled, causing the feet to screw in at an angle. If yours is doing this, it's not really worth it to adjust the feet in my opinion. For me, this was because I didn't want to leave them unscrewed and have them adjusting themselves as I worked or falling off. It will stay where you put it once you get it level but you might as well leave them screwed all the way in to protect the machine itself. That's what I did with mine. Then I flipped the panel over to help it fit better and put rubber feet on the bottom (one adjusted further with a layer of foam tape because it was still wobbling a little) Now it's totally fine. It spins pretty fast. Controls well. I tried to stop it with my finger a few times and I don't see any kind of issue with the operation. But be aware that this isn't the best construction and set your expectations for what you're getting. It's not going to fall apart but it's also probably going to be a pain right out of the box for most people if they are needing to adjust for build problems. So, if you're not going to be patient about that, skip it. If you're willing to put up with that, I think it operates great for a nice price. And it's quiet. Winner in my book. But still just 3 stars. It could be a ton better if it simply didn't have knobs and feet pointing at angles. Great machine that just needs an entirely different exterior. Edit: Additional notes, (1) don't try to bend the power switch back or you will need a new motor speed board controller and the expertise to replace it so you don't electrocute yourself or further break it... I snapped mine clean off. It was better before I messed with it sadly. Made it worse and then overcorrected. Now I'm buying a new part. My fault... but it should not have been bent in the first place. (2) The machine is not water tight up top. Seal it with plumbing epoxy putty or e6000 glue or careless use is going to ruin your motor or buttons. ... show more

I am in love with this little machine. Very sturdy and quiet! I am new to pottery and like to work small and this is perfect. The picture is of my first thrown pot! I had trouble getting the turntable off of the machine to use the smaller one, I contacted the seller, and I was sent a new machine that I received the next day. Great seller experience. Super cute, super fun. I have made so many tiny vases with this little wheel, I use the paintbrush handles to open the clay, and this great little set comes with all the accessories you need to be successful once you add clay.

It's a toy so lacks power to turn any sort of real mud. Loosening the mud by wetting helps my 7yr old manage and make shapes. Could be best seller and great product if power was increased and foot control. Is it that difficult to make stuff work?

Arrived early and works great. Plug it in and go. The tools that come with it are ones I already had, but a nice bonus. Most of them are ones that I don’t foresee using with such a small wheel. You have to adjust your touch significantly. Especially with centering or the wheel will stop. It is possible though! Edit: this wheel did crap out on me. My theory is I used too much water and it got in the machine and killed it. ... show more

I think the wheel is well-made, sturdy, with plenty of power. The feet on the bottom can be screwed to level it. The problem is mostly likely that there is a serious learning curve to pottery throwing and I have absolutely no experience. I also think that I need to absolutely level it. I don't think I know enough to know if it is my uneven surfaces and the feet that need leveled or if the different wheels might not be level. Everything about the machine seems great and as I would want it to be. The problem, I think, is lack of knowledge and skill on my part........or also, things being unbalanced. I need to try again to see if I can level and balance everything so that the finished piece symmetrical. ... show more

Works well. Smaller plate than some others I have seen, but has some power for the job. Of course the more pressure, the plates stops... So it's nothing like centering clay on the full scale... You have to adapt to different techniques and tools. Got this one after the one on eBay delayed in shipping and I received this within a week of ordering... Still waiting on my other one so I have no comparison yet. ... show more
