I really like this cold brew pitcher. For a start, I like the way it looks; it kind of resembles a lab flask, which is pretty cool if that's your thing. It's very easy to use, once you get the hang of how much water it can take without overflowing if you're going to put the water in first and then add the filter filled with coffee grounds. That's the way I'd recommend doing it; you can then add a little more water on top of the grounds once the water from the pitcher has soaked the grounds and the level has dropped a bit. You can also put the filter in first and then add water on top of the grounds, but that takes longer as you have to wait for the water to work its way through the grounds and into the pitcher repeatedly, and can only pour a small amount of water into the filter each time. The filter and lid fit well into the top of the pitcher, and both have silicone seals that prevent spills when the lid is on, even when the pitcher is filled almost all the way to the top. The coffee I've made using this pitcher has turned out perfectly each time; the filter is impressively fine, and no grounds have escaped into my coffee. You do need to remove the filter in order to pour your coffee, but that's not an issue for me as I'm going to throw out the grounds once the coffee's ready to drink vs. continue steeping them. I actually decant the coffee into a different pitcher once it's ready so that I can begin brewing a new batch in this one right away, although you could obviously set the filter aside and keep the brewed coffee in this pitcher as well. It's easy to clean; there's no information that specifically says not to put it in the dishwasher, but it also doesn't mention being dishwasher-safe either, so I err on the side of caution by handwashing it. ... show more

While I do really love this carafe, I can't understand why/how the manufacturer can claim it to be 51oz or even 48oz. You can only fill it with water up to the 40oz line before placing the mesh filter inside, or the water will simply spill out of the top. So the only way you can use the extra 11 ounces would be if you added anything to the pot after removing the mesh filter. My only other complaint would be that there's no way to pour anything out of the carafe without at least partially removing the mesh filter (no gap, which clearly helps prevent the coffee from getting bitter, but makes it easy to drip if not careful while holding the mesh filter up while pouring). OTHER THAN THAT, this carafe works FANTASTICALLY!!! Not a single coffee ground has made it past the mesh filter in the pots I've made so far! Not one! That's awesome! The pot is a nicely solid glass with a solid-feeling handle as well. Easy to hold, and it also comes with a rubber "doily" pad to set the glass carafe down onto so it won't bang or get scratched when placing it onto a counter, etc. I can't wait to try using this for fruit-infused waters and even cold-brew tea. Over all, I'm VERY happy with this product, and definitely recommend it to anyone who likes cold-brew coffees, teas, or water. It seems to suggest even being able to make hot beverages (I imagine using the same method of filling the mesh filter first, then filling with hot water up to the 40oz line, place the mesh filter inside, then just wait)... But I haven't tried because I prefer iced over hot. Excellent results with this so far, and it's also a very reasonable price! ... show more

I love this cold brew coffee maker. So far I have only made cold brew coffee in this and it worked good. There are very minimal directions on the box that basically just say add coffee pour water over then refrigerate for 24hrs. Nothing about how much coffee per cup or anything like that. I tried the normal 1 scoop per cup I use in my coffee maker which worked but it seemed a little on the weak side compared to coffee brewed through my coffee maker so I may have to add more coffee next time. I also plan on trying this for iced teas as well. The only complaint I have is this is super thin glass, think along the lines of a flower vase you get with flowers for free or that sorta thing. I try to pick it up holding under the base because I really don't trust the handle when it's full and I feel if I accidentally bumped this while washing it on the counter or sink it would easily break. That being said it works good and the basket and lid are all stainless, it's easy to clean, and seals well when closed. They included a foam cleaner tool and a plastic trivet to put under it. Although this cold brew maker appears larger, its size doesn’t affect its ability to keep the grounds strained while soaking them in water to make cold brew coffee. This is perfect for teas and other infusion drinks, cold or hot.

I was a bit skeptical of this at first, but I guess I didn't really understand how well cold brew can work. You just assume the shops have some special press or something in the back that would not be cost-effective to keep and maintain. But you're wrong, this special brewing carafe can help you make your own fantastically delicious cold brew within half a day or so. There are no instructions included, but printed on the box are some rudimentary "here's how you do this" visuals. Fill the coffee thing with coffee. Pour water over it. Put in refrigerator and wait. And then pour out the best iced coffee you have ever made at home. As I am not so great at math, I only made a 3/4 carafe of coffee, but this morning I was not only wishing I made more but almost wishing I had another of these to have more. It is that damned good. Like I want to make another, but it's another 12-14 hour or so of steeping. But the money you'd spend at the coffee shop for these delights makes this purchase amazingly cost-effective, and the caffeine will keep you going all day. Trust me. ... show more
