I absolutely love this! It makes car rides so much more comfortable for our dogs. One of our dogs hates to ride in the car and this was a game changer. It was simple to set up, looks great, and was very sturdy for a nearly 50 pound dog to stand in the area over the foot well. It nearly doubles the space of the backseat, which made it easy to put a dog bed down and still leave room for him to move around. He normally cries and whines in the car but this changed everything. I was able to hook up his harness to the seatbelt and he was able to feel safe and secure. He slept peacefully for an hour ride each way. Other items we tried were not nearly as sturdy. Wish I had purchased this sooner. Well worth every cent!

Fits terrific in my Lincoln aviator with a rear, center middle console. It make a flat sturdy, thick middle with the padding. It's easy to put in your vehicle. The only thing that takes a minute is zipping the window sides, making it a complete box. ( if you want to do that) otherwise you unfold and put the straps around the headrest and that’s it. It has a nice thick fabric, it is a bit slippery of a texture, but it should be fine if we need to clean it. Well worth the price! Also like the pocket to store dog stuff and the leash provided that pushes into the seatbelt.

Wish we knew about this years ago!! Gives a solid foundation for our 2 dogs across a backseat that has 2 separate bucket chairs. We also use on a bench seat in our crew cab truck. Keeps the dogs comfortable by creating boundaries in the seat without trappings of a kennel or carrier. Easy to install, take in and out of the car and move between vehicles. Our dogs are medium sized (Australian Shepherds), both settle nicely in the space.

YJGF Back Seat Extender really adds a lot of room for my 65lb English Bulldog. It has supported her weight thus far with no issues. We've only had it 3 weeks, so we will see how long it stays sturdy. All the seams appear well manufactured. There isn't much cushion, but a blanket or bed will solve this issue with ease. My dog LOVES the extra room. She was a bit short on room before. The seat just isn't wide enough for her to even easily turn around without a leg slipping off. I love the mesh in the center that allows air flow. English Bulldog's don't tolerate heat or cold as well as a lot of other breeds. The extender fits my 2010 Ford Fusion wonderfully. We did measure before purchasing. Instead of measuring the actual seat, we extended the measuring tape to the dimensions of the product to see where it would be inside the vehicle. Perfect. I like that you have the option to fold up one side and still use the product in case you need a spot for someone to ride in the back seat and still need to use the extender. It's not ideal because of the way it folds; parts of the product aren't fully out of the way and the folded part is quite a bit thicker than the single layer part, but definitely doable in a pinch. And, if you need to remove the extender completely, it comes with its own storage bag. Just toss it in the trunk and it's handy to reinstall when needed. I really struggled with giving the product 5 stars or just 4 stars, and here's why: I'm not sure why the clips for the front seat headrest are metal and the back seat headrest are not. To save money, maybe? Clips getting too hot in the sun, possibly? Without knowing the manufacturer's reasoning, one can only guess. I just don't think it would've cost much more to have all the clips metal and I believe the metal clips would be safer and more durable. Since the supported base is flat, it lays according to the slope of the seat. I put a rolled extra large beach towel under the extender to make it more level. Works fine. Something like a really long microbead pillow would probably work better, but I don't have any that large and I didn't want to spend the money to purchase any just to try a theory when the towel works as well as it does. It would be nice if there was a built-in function to help hold the extender level that was flexible enough to fit a variety of vehicles... like the microbeads would do. The biggest issue I'm having with the product is my dog jumps into the floorboard and then up into the seat. Picking her up and putting her in the vehicle is an option, but she is a rescue and has high anxiety issues with being picked up. Trying to put a 65lb flopping bulldog into a car's back seat while bending over and forward isn't the easiest task. So, we go through the process of unbuckling, unzipping, folding, unfolding, zipping, and buckling one side of the extender every time we put her in the vehicle. What would be nice is if the "flaps" that are on each end that protect the doors had the same support in them the base does. Then, we could just fold the flap down to meet her stairs and it would bridge the gap between the stairs and the back seat. So, I am going to add that support myself. Would be an amazing upgrade if this product had such an option for our situation. I went with 5 stars because the product really does what it's intended to do, is exactly as advertised, and it really is a nice product. Overall, and after short-term use of the product, I do recommend it. UPDATE: I've had this product over a year now, and it is holding up wonderfully! Not a single stitch broken! The sole issue is the plastic clip on the side we load and unload the dog on broke within 5 months. I replaced it with a metal clip. The plastic clip on the other side is still intact and functioning - but it has only been unclipped and reclipped a handful of times. I am still VERY pleased with this purchase and still recommend it.

This hammock replaced another which lacked the solid base this one has. The solid bottom is a marked improvement over the other model I had. However, three areas I see where improvement can be made are the pouches behind the front seats which are too large and basic. First of all, others I’ve used had two pouches on the driver’s and passenger’s side, each. With one pouch on either side sewn to hold water bottles. Secondly, items which are really weak are the clips holding the side straps. These are unhinged plastic which are very difficult to open, and just attaching one to the side loop during installation resulted in the hook snapping in half due to the inflexibility of the hook. A standard hinged hook or carabiner would be a great improvement. Lastly, as others have noted, the zippers are annoyingly difficult to engage because the ends are not sewn together, so one needs to engage the two zipper tracks as with a jacket; however, the alignment is not very precise, so it’s challenging to zip the sides up each time the dog enters or exits the hammock. As such, I may just allow my dog to enter through the front seat and over the center console so that I don’t need to re-zip the side panel each time.

First, it's extremely stable and spacious for our medium sized border collie. Even big enough to fit her bed in fine. My parents have a basic hammock and the hard base on this makes it a completely different beast. Although you pay for it, it's worth it. I have a pickup so it also doubles as a safe spot to load groceries. It fits very well in my 2020 Chev Colorado. One thing i took a gamble on is whether it can be used to occupy two of the rear seats instead of the whold back seat. While it's not designed to do this, we got it to work by reusing the side arm ring belt to go between the front set head wrests. And the far right rear head rest belt around the centre seat headrest. Not perfect, but it worked will and it was comfortable for a passenger in the back + dog. Worth the extra over the soft base options. With this there is no chance of the dog slipping down the front of the seat, plus you can stash stuff in the footwell under it safely.
