So first off, the box these come in is heavy but also very well sized and sturdy. I might keep it for future use in fact. I am going to start by saying this bed has been a Godsend. We have lots of little critters in our yard that have been ruining our planting beds and eating all our seedlings. No more! Our new planter has kept everyone at bay! The assembly is very basic. All you need is a Phillips head screwdriver. The material is basic roofing material. Nothing is heavy duty and the whole thing feels a little loosey goosey until you get it all together. Its not something you would want to move all by yourself since it will flex and bend a lot. There was some cursing and slight blood loss from putting the siding pieces in. On some sides I had it a little long and so I had to bend the green siding pieces until they fit together at some joints. Most likely a me thing though. I like everything except the middle uprights. They are basically just a loose bar that has a bent tab to hold it up. Some flanges on the other side would have helped a lot to keep everything together but honestly as long as you don't have things landing on the netting or high winds it should be fine. I am thinking of putting on a little RTV sealant to hold mine more in place. Obviously there is no bottom on these. My wife was surprised by that but you don't want a bottom anyway. Even if it is well drained you will get mold and roots and all sorts of issues. It also keeps it very easy to move. My last note would be that you want the ground these are on to be VERY flat. Even a little unevenness is super visible and makes your planter look more junky than it is. Ours is slightly a-kilter and its obvious from meters away. Prep your area well in advance!

Before ordering, I used a measuring taper and tried to visualize how large they would be. I ordered 7 of them and just put one together yesterday. We have been under a large amount of rain which caused floods all over my county and yesterday was the first day of no rainfall, flooding and it was warm and dry. They are very very small, too small for my needs. I can’t return them since I am right at the return window and can’t afford the cost of the return shipping. I drive school bus and barely make a living already and couldn’t afford the cost of this order but I needed them and had to do it anyways. None of this is the company’s fault, I’m just going to have to get creative. I have more than a dozen brussel sprouts , spinach growing and only 1 of each will be able to planted in each of them because of how large they will grow. Not even a dozen spinach will fit in all seven beds and I would still have the brussel sprouts, tomatoes, onions, carrots and the dozen different varieties of fruits I have germinated and growing. Will have to shop around and find affordable totes and buckets to put holes in because that will cost a couple hundred more….meanwhile my job is ending next month until next school year and I will be laid off. I was hoping to have my first garden this year to help with cost over the summer. But instead I am going to spending more than I can afford again. Not this company’s fault. It was pretty self explanatory to put together and I was able to do it by myself. If you need a small raised bed then this will be fine for you, to bad these are to short and not wide enough for me.
