I actually put it in the cooler so it becomes cold before putting can I to it. I like the top that screws on/off easily and holds the can in place. This is a great koozie for tall cans. It works better than others I have used and keeps drinks cooler for a longer time. The only problem is the screw cap. It can be a struggle getting it to screw on correctly. An annoying design flaw.
