  • I liked it enough to buy a second one
Color: Stainless
Well-designed travel mug -- Yeti makes solid products. Keeps ice tea plenty cold and coffee nice and hot, and I love that the lid seals completely to avoid spills but is also easy enough to drink out of one-handed when driving. Good size, too -- not too big to fit in cupholders, but big enough for a day out. ... show more

  • Great travel mug
Color: Stainless
I really like this mug; it keeps my coffee hot until I am ready to drink it. I like the ease of drinking from the mug, and it is completely leak proof. It is easy to clean and maintain. I highly recommend this mug to anyone who has ever had a mug spill while driving or moving around.

  • Had to buy a second one for my husband!
Color: Navy
My husband telling me how much he liked my Yeti coffee "mug" so I finally broke down and purchased him one also. He is a happy man now. This Yeti keeps the coffee nice and hot and it is strong enough to handle an occasional drop with no harm to it. Great mug!

  • Bigger, But Better
I recently lost a well-like Kleen Kanteen, but since the travel cap had started leaking, perhaps it was for the best. In looking for one to replace it, I decided to try the Yeti. Unfortunately it wasn't available in red, like my old Kleen Kanteen, but the pleasant "clay" orange is nice enough. When I got it I realized that it was a little larger in every way than my old bottle, but it still fits in my car cupholder so no big problem there. One advantage to the bigger design is the extra wide mouth, which is almost full-diameter to the inside. That wide mouth allows me to brew coffee directly from my Meltita cone into my Yeti, eliminating one of the frustrations I had with the Kleen Kanteen. Of course the downside is that the Yeti is just a bit taller and just a bit wider than the Kleen Kanteen, and substantially heavier. It's about 14 oz compared to 9 oz for the Kleen Kanteen. That means the Yet is actually heavier than the liquid inside it, and loaded with coffee it'll weigh just over 2 lbs. Part of that weight and bulk is the lid, which is quite thick. That means it's more insulated though, and the mechanism to open and close the sip lid seems to be quite secure and well designed, and I like that it can be sipped from any direction. Flow seems better than the Kleen Kanteen too. But what it really comes down to is how well it retains heat. I tested the two containers head-to-head (using my wife's Kleen Kanteen). For this test both units were 12 oz and filled with equal amounts (330 grams) of boiling water. Both used their own travel lid, which remained closed. Neither were pre-heated. After two hours, the water in the Yeti was 177 degrees, the Kleen Kanteen was at 168 degrees. So the Kleen Kanteen lost 25% more than the Yeti. After four hours, the Yeti was down to 143, but the Kleen Kanteen was down to 129, an additional loss of 15% more than the Yeti. Both were drinkable temperature, but the Yeti was what I would call “hot” while the Kleen Kanteen was just “very warm.” So in the end the Yeti is bigger and more expensive, but it seems to be worth it because of its durable construction and ability to retain heat better. I'd recommend this over any vacuum bottle I've used. ... show more

  • The ultimate coffee cup
Color: Black
I use the yeti rambler hot shot every day to drink coffee. It keeps my coffee hot for as long as it takes to finish the cup. I love the convenient form factor, and the size of the hot shot and this hot shot lid can be used on any YETI rambler product. What a great idea.

  • Great but not totally leakproof
Color: Black
Easy to use, great size. The downside is that it isn’t completely leakproof. When tipped upside down, it leaks. (That might seem like a silly quibble—but my travel mug has fallen over in my school bag before, as it did on my first use of this mug).

  • The perfect accompaniment for single-cup coffee makers and people on the go!
This mug does the job it was made for well, is easy to clean, and is very rugged. Below are some of the features and a brief but accurate performance measurement. Temperature retention: Over the course of 7 hours, the temperature of the liquid inside the mug dropped by 62 degrees F. This sounds like a lot, but if you put boiling water in it (around 200 deg. F), you will have very hot (around 130 deg. F) water to drink after a full-ish work day. This is more than most people need. To test this, I filled the bottle with 12 oz water that initially measured 191 deg. F with an instant-read thermometer and then placed the lid (in closed position) onto the mug. It was kept in a room temperature environment until the next reading, when the lid was again removed. Note that the temp. drop would have been less affected if I were able to use the 'Hot Shot' cap to take the measurement, but the instant read had to be inserted into the liquid to do so. See measurements below: 0h 00min 191 deg. F 2h 00min 163 deg. F 4h 30min 143 deg. F 6h 30min 129 deg. F The biggest heat loss is though the threaded portion of the upper lip because it is a continuous piece of steel and, though vacuumed, provides more transmissibility to the outside air. Other mugs do a better job in this area but only by sacrificing durability. If this tradeoff is worth it to you, you won't mind much! Size/Weight: The mug measures almost exactly 3" in diameter straight down to the base with a height of 7.25". The lack of taper makes it less likely to tip over but also less likely to fit in your car's cupholder. In my Kia Optima, it barely fits in the center-console (it doesn't touch the bottom and is squeezed by the sides) but fits perfectly in the door. On my wife's Volvo XC60, it fits well in both. I should also note that it fits perfectly under our Nespresso Vertuo machine and an 8oz coffee + crema makes it just under the threaded lid. Wonderful! The mug + lid weigh 14.4 oz. When filled with 12 oz liquid and placed in a backpack, it'll be a 1 lb 10.4 oz drain on your shoulders... But it'll be durable! Cleaning/Assembly: The 'Hot Shot' lid is easy to remove and disassemble for cleaning. You just twist past two soft 'clicks' and it's out of the housing and ready to clean. It's also dishwasher safe and you can drink from any point on the lid, which are nice features. My only gripe with the lid is that you can't tell if it's opened or closed just by looking at it. I have gotten in the habit of just closing it every time so I know to open it before taking a sip. Yeti could fix this by putting a colored dot or notch on the inner/outer portions of the lid so that, when they line up, you are assured of it's position. Conclusion: Overall, I have been enjoying this mug a lot and hope this review helps you make the right decision. It's a solid performer, has great features, and looks more expensive than it is. Side note: This YETI Rambler was purchased for the sole purpose of keeping an 8oz Nespresso Coffee hot, and for this it is perfect. If you don't know, the Nespresso Vertuo brews coffee at a relatively low temperature because it uses centrifugal pressure to extract the magic from the beans, not boiling water. I love how it's immediately drinkable, but after 15 minutes it's not hot enough. This rambler is the perfect accompaniment for one of these machines and I highly recommend it! ... show more

I am really happy with this! Perfect size for throwing in my purse and it won't leak. Very cute and I have not seen anyone yet with this style of Yeti
