I'm loving this thing more and more every day. Initially, however, I wasn't so sure. Some of the complaints about size and not keeping things cold had me a little worried. What I would say is this. If you are looking for something to take a lunch to work (i.e. a lunch sack), where the Daytrip will sit in a mostly controlled environment but not a refrigerator, then this works great. I pack my lunch the night before, put into the refrigerator with a 2lb Yeti ice, take it out at 6am and go to work. At noon, my lunch is still cold and the Yeti ice is still about half frozen. After eating, I close up and when I get home at about 5pm, the Yeti ice still has a little slush in it. So this works perfectly for my routine. If you work outdoors in the heat and the Daytrip will be sitting out in the sun, then this probably isn't for you. In that case, you should be looking for a cooler (maybe a Flip 8). As for size, if you are trying to take two meals, drinks and snacks, yes, it is too small. If you are taking a meal with a drink and maybe some snacks, there is plenty of room if you give a little thought about how to pack (in other words, don't just throw everything in there). While the size does work, I would like to see Yeti make another model that is slightly larger to allow for lunch and a a couple drinks or multiple Tupperware containers, and has a pocket for silverware and napkins. Other than that, this thing is very durable and will last a long time. I would purchase again. ... show more

This does the job very well, throw an ice pack in and it will keep whatever you need cool all day. Ever since I switched to Yeti products I have not regretted my decision. I have to say, it is no different with the lunchbox. I wish the capacity was a little better so I was able to hold a few more items, but for storing a lunch and maybe a drink or two together, it works great. It packs away really nice, but it is a little hard to fold up. I think the footprint is the ideal size to hold a lot, but not take up too much room in the break room fridge or communal storage. it also keep your items cool with or without an icepack. It is preferred to use an icepack to keep the overall temperature down, but I kept it cool for about 4 hours without ice or a cooling solution. ... show more

Got those ice packs, put two in there and I have cold drinks all day and lunch is fridge cold when I eat it. I don’t have to use the company fridge anymore- just keep it as my desk with my snacks and drinks handy. Exactly the performance I have come to expect from YETI.
