I purchased this helmet in blue to match my Harley colors as the ad and helmet picture stated that it was definitely DOT approved. Even the lower ad (under: "About this item") states: "High-Strength Protection - The shell is made of ABS material, and the helmet liner is equipped with EPS foam, which has a good ability to resist pressure and absorb impact, protecting your head at critical moments. As a former Quality Control Manager I can tell you that this ad does not match the item depicted. Even the foam padding inside the helmet came out of it immediately with a very slight tug. It was glued on with a dab of some glue that was incompatible with the foam shell that they glued. The goggles blur your peripheral vision. The helmet may look pretty but this item is a dangerous item being sold as a DOT approved helmet for almost $60 including tax. This is a beautiful novelty helmet and could be used for riding a regular bike but not a motorcycle. I will probably use it on my motorcycle but just for the looks like another Harley reviewer mentioned: " The color matches bike and it looks good. UPDATE: Seller reached out to me and stated that they will work on correcting this contradiction and did credit me a percentage of the price. The customer service is excellent!
